Huangshan Ancient Town Youth Hostel

I have no complaints about this hostel but can't exactly say it was out of this world. It was a good place to stay for a night after arriving from the train station. It is conveniently located on the edge of the ancient town, there are many spots to grab a cheap and delicious bite nearby, and the rooms are decent for the price. Not luxurious, but certainly fine. The view from the outdoor lounges is quite nice, though.

Great location, friendly staff and rather cheap - no complaints at all.

Cheap hostel and perfect location in the old town. However, some of the staff were very rude. We met two different girls in the reception desk that spoke good English but they were totally unwilling to help us. We felt that we bothered them each time we asked a question (one of them would'nt look up from her phone while talking to us). We gave up after a day and figured out everything by our own. This is the reason behind our 3/5 grade. The night-receptionist and the chef couldn't speak English but they were much nicer and more helpful!
It was very cold (november) in the common areas but we had a good night sleep since the AC worked perfectly. You can't expect much for the price we payed. 

Some rude staff

Room was ok for 5€. Bathroom and shower pretty weak. Bus was a hoax, full of chinese tuorists shouting and the bus took almost 2 hours (taxi takes 55min). The location was superb thankfully. The owner spoke english but other staff did not. 

Do not take the bus to the mountain

Nice quite night's sleep (though the hostel felt empty). Wifi worked better than at most hostels in China. Our room had a mouldy smell and some floor boards under the carpet-tiles were breaking through. The place needs a renovation. We were happy to find that the hostel accepts credit cards.

Average price, great location, shabby rooms. Accepts credit cards!

This is definitely top my worst hostel/ hotel I ever stay.

Stale smell from aircon.
Graffiti in all walls in the room.
Lots of insect in the ceiling lights.
I would not say there is mattress, it is as hard as platform.
The comforter, pillow, curtain are all stained.
Bitten by bed bugs, you will not be surprised if you see the actual condition of the room.
The share toilet is so smelly that I really need to stop breathing before I stepped in. I have tried 2nd floor toilet but no lights and toilet bowl broken. 3rd floor and 4th floor toilet is too smelly. This is not used by consumers. It is definitely due to maintenance. The bathroom is so dirty, no hook, left a super dirty wet stool, i struggling to figure out to hang my clothings slowly on the door handle. The whole night i dare not drink much water in fear to go to their toilet. Really depressing.
