LongShenglongji Hotel

For visiting the Longji Rice Terraces, this is a good place to stay. Most of the tourists go there to take photos. Its location is excellent as one could walk to the hilltops, to photograph sunrise and and sunset. It is clean and comfortable, with views of the rice terraces from room windows. It has a spacious restaurant with good local food. Interestingly, the hotel has a wonderful dog. It followed us (photographers) in the cold morning before sunrise to the hilltop and when we were leaving the hotel it followed us all the way downhill to the car-park, to see us off. Like most other local hotels, it is constructed from timber which provides a warm feel. There is a convenience store near the hotel. Around the hotel one could see horses carrying bricks and other construction materials up and down the narrow stone paths. They have the right of way (else you get knocked over) and photographers love to take photos of these hard-working creatures. I include here some beautiful photos taken at the rice terraces within walking distances of the hotel. Although the best time to visit the Longji Rice Terraces is late Sept. - mid Oct. when the rice fields turn into golden yellow, the locals have arranged to fill the rice terraces with water during winter so that the terraces continue to provide splendid views, especially at sunset and sunrise. What a good idea for tourism.
