Renaissance Shanghai Yu Garden Hotel

We enjoyed our 3-night stay. The hotel was less expensive than the Westin and Marriott. They also accepted our NUA for an upgrade to a Bund view. As Titanium, they further upgraded us to a higher floor, the 15th (1519). For my birthday, the hotel gave me a slice of cake, some pastries, and a small bottle of sparkling water. There are 20 room floors. The lounge is on the 17th. Only a few rooms/floor directly face the river. All the other rooms have an angled view to the north or south. Our view was great over Shanghai. We could see all the tall buildings lighted at night, Yu Garden, and parts of the river. Unfortunately, Pearl Tower was hidden directly behind another tall building. Our room was large, clean, well-furnished, and comfortable. Breakfast was good. We were not able to try the lounge food. The staff were all very nice. The location is great. Yu Garden is 3 blocks away. The area also has a lot of shopping and restaurants, including Old Street and Yuyuan Bazaar. It is a 10-minute walk to the Bund. The 4 pm check-out was great for our midnight flight.
