UniLoft Hostel Dalian

This is the nicest hostel I have ever stayed at in China as it’s clearly up to international standards! One negative is the location as it’s a bit of a hike (maybe 10-15 minutes) to the nearest subway & the train station (the tram goes by much closer though) IF you have a lot of luggage (Dalian is also hilly) BUT it’s worth the trouble to stay here. My other complaint is the lack of e.g. a tourist/travel binder or something w/ up-to-date Dalian info as some of the front desk staff speak English while others do not (but they still did their best to be helpful via translator apps). The toilets etc have toilet paper & soap or shampoo – generally not common in Chinese hostels! They were also reasonably clean BUT this might depend on how many people are staying here. The beds (there were no upper bunks - at least not in my room) though don’t have blackout curtains for complete privacy/darkness if the lights are on. The hostel itself has an industrial design with a lot of open space or places to hang out with power sockets. I did not eat breakfast here (there are convenience stores right by the hostel and places to eat nearby – if you speak Chinese…). There was water available in the main space (I assume this was filtered) and a kettle to boil it with the Internet generally work fine here (but the cement walls in the rooms may disrupt reception in the rooms).
