The staff can speak English and can help you out with finding places, making phone calls etc.. the rooms are spacious and there are plenty of them! It's in a great location, close to food, the bus and wuhouci temple..you can catch the bus to the panda centre, back and entry for only 88. Nice hot water. Plenty of friendly locals to hang out with, great inside lounge and outdoor area with pool table!

We've stayed at the Steam Hostel for 3 nights. This is the perfect place for backpackers to hang out with locals and other travelers. Free games such as a kicker- and a pool table, nice selection of beers.
Rooms could use some updates, but all in all was more then enough for us. Staff speaks English very well and is super helpful. If I ever go back to Chengdu, this is where I'll be staying at!

Budget hostel with fiendly staff

Super friendly and a great place !

The best feature of this hostel is its live music venue which is very professionally run with good sound and well chosen bands. It is centrally located and reasonably priced. The lobby/bar/lounge has a very pleasant outside area to sit and have a drink/eat some food. There are a variety of rooms, from single rooms, in which I stayed in, to large dorms. My room was quite large, clean, painted dark blue and had a big mix of different styles of cheap furniture and clashing coverings. Staff were always friendly and helpful.

I love the vibe of this place. The staff and service were great. Rooms are adequate and it's super cheap.
When I went to put my linen on my bed it literally started ripping it was so old. That was quite off putting and I have had others say the same

Get some new sheets

One of the worst places I've stayed. I recommend looking elsewhere - there's a lot to choose from in Chengdu. This hostel was dingy and dark, the bar staff were ok but I left with a bad taste in my mouth by the unfriendly management, who also kept a parcel delivered to me. Bad vibes man.
