Walnut Tree Courtyard Peking

We stayed here with friends in a 4 person room at the end of March. We had originally booked a room in another hutong inn that upon arrival denied having our booking and we were basically left high and dry by booking.com. We happened to find Walnut Tree online and it was nearby so headed over to check it out. First of all, it was very difficult to find, as the outside door is unmarked and it is around the corner in an alley from the street it is listed on. They were very welcoming and we were able to stay in a Tatami style room with a loft. It was a really cute room, the bathroom was sparkling clean and the room was really cute. Keep in mind, this is an authentic Beijing hutong, if you don't want an authentic experience in a smaller room type in a narrow neighborhood street area, then please book a room at the Marriott or Hyatt Regency etc.! There is a really huge modern kitchen that you can use, which was really convenient and it was also sparkling clean and well organized. The courtyard has tables and chairs, it was very quaint and comfortable. The owner was super friendly, accomodating, and helpful and they have an adorable little rescue dog that loves to greet people! We loved our experience here, and would stay again if we come back to Beijing.
