Montepiedra Rio de Luna

We enjoyed our stay here. Our room was bright during the day with lots of windows to enjoy the river view. The beds are comfortable and the room is a decent size. The walls, though, are very thin so it is very easy to hear the people in the next room. The staff at the hotel were very nice and accommodating. Breakfast was good - they will cook eggs in the morning to go with a selection of breads, cakes, meat and cheese. Coffee was instant coffee so we didn't have any, although my husband enjoyed tea. We thought the hostal was in a great location with access to the river and then just a short walk up the river to the center of town. The hostal has a deck that we enjoyed sitting at with a glass of wine - watching the activity down below. There were also food trucks a few yards down from the hostal on the riverwalk. It was so enjoyable to sit at the tables the food trucks set out and be out there on the river, enjoying a tea and pastry, knowing our hostal was just a few steps away. There is also a wonderful restaurant within walking distance to the hostal called Puerto Canelos which we went to twice during our stay! We would definitely stay at Hostal Rio de Luna again if given the chance to be in Valdivia again.
