Luciano K Hotel

This stylish 38-room hotel is in the La Starria neighborhood, across from a large park and river and the Bella Vista neighborhood. It was designed by Luciano Kulczewski, who also built the nearby funicular, and it has beautiful architectural details, including a gargoyle on the top, outside of the pink, narrow building; and gorgeous tile flooring. There is a wonderful rooftop area with a bar, restaurant, pool and outstanding views. It has an old-fashioned elevator, with grated doors, that arrived surprisingly quickly once summonsed. Guest room space was primarily filled by the bed (also a small sofa) and there was a large bathroom with window and stained glass door. A complimentary small bottle of red Chilean wine was provided, although no coffee maker or way to heat water. Towels and a robe were rough and seemed like they'd been used for awhile. There was a nice breakfast buffet, primarily with cold foods in addition to scrambled eggs. The hotel has its own generator which came in quite handy as there was a huge power outage on the second day that we were there!
