34 reviewsThe cabanas are basic but nice. The shared kitchen is really nice to have. The view is wonderful. It is a little bit out of town (10 minute walk) up on a hill. This is a bonus, because it is much more peaceful here. There is a big yard with some chickens. The roosters do crow, but we found the baby chickens fun to watch. The yard is beautiful and full of flowers. Carmen is wonderful. She is a busy single mom, so don't expect a 5 star hotel experience. However, we always had everything we needed and Carmen helped us with everything. She even drove us into town for groceries and brought us homemade guava juice. She was always going out of her way to bring us something extra, such as fresh flowers in the kitchen or bread and jam for breakfast. She also invited us to church on Sunday to hear the beautiful singing. We felt like we were staying with a friend rather than at a hotel. Thank you Carmen!!!

All citizens of Chile, regardless of the duration of their stay, and all foreigners who stay in the country for at least 60 consecutive days may have to pay the national sales tax (19%) when checking out. To receive tax exemption, foreign citizens must pay for their stay upon entry in foreign currency (not Chilean pesos) or with a credit card issued abroad and present a valid passport along with the migration card they received upon entry into the country. If a person subject to paying the tax and another exempt from the same share a room, the rate may be applied to the entire room. Based on local tax laws, Chilean citizens (and foreigners staying more than 59 days in Chile) must pay an additional fee of 19%. Please note that for tax exemption travelers must pay in US dollars and have to present the migration card they are given when they arrive to the country. Foreign business travelers, who require a printed invoice, will also be charged the additional 19% regardless of the length of their stay in Chile. This fee is not automatically calculated in the total costs for the reservation. |
