This is one of the homeliest, most friendly hostels I’ve ever stayed in! Because it’s quite small you get to meet most people which is great as a solo traveler. The communal areas are great, the views from the rooftop are absolutely amazing, it’s in a great location right next to the amazing street art and the best empanadas! It’s also really clean, with comfortable beds. The staff go the extra mile to make you feel welcome, especially Guti who deserves a special shout out!! He really cares about his job and his guests, which shows. The kitchen is great, and the free laundry is an extra bonus!! I have recommended this to everyone staying in Valparaíso. I really hope I can come back one day :)

All citizens of Chile, regardless of the duration of their stay, and all foreigners who stay in the country for at least 60 consecutive days may have to pay the national sales tax (19%) when checking out. To receive tax exemption, foreign citizens must pay for their stay upon entry in foreign currency (not Chilean pesos) or with a credit card issued abroad and present a valid passport along with the migration card they received upon entry into the country. If a person subject to paying the tax and another exempt from the same share a room, the rate may be applied to the entire room.
