Was there for appetizers.  The staff was very good and appetizers very tasty.  Nice quiet place to sit, have a drink and talk.  The restaurant was very homey and quiet   It was a very nice place to sit and have a quiet drink and some appetizers.  There was no shortage of selections of drinks either.

Had such a lovely stay at the Windsor House! Originally staying for 3 nights and ended up extending to a full week. Loved the town and the Windsor House. Jay was a perfect host, felt right at home the entire time. Will definitely be back to town and will definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!!

My wife and I spent two nights at Windsor House, celebrating our 54th wedding anniversary. The entirety of our stay was simply outstanding.  The room and other features of the House were magnificent. We will absolutely be re-booking later this year, along with another couple.  Special thanks to Nathan for recommending Windsor House to us and to Jay, our wonderful host, for the many special things he did for us. The visit was utter civility!!

Although we’ve eaten at Windsor House multiple times, this was our first stay at the Inn, but it won’t be our last.

Big comfy bed in a very spacious room.  Books and art and great antique furniture. So many little nooks to check out.

We didn’t stay long enough to need the fridge or microwave but was good to know these amenities were available in room if we did need them.  Coffee and Tea available in the common area and great little sitting areas to enjoy some quiet time. 

Truly a unique and very comfortable place in a perfect location.

They have parking and lots of outdoor space to enjoy as well.

The Windsor House is the best place to stay in Saint Andrews! The rooms are incredibly charming, there is an on-site delicious restaurant, it is pet friendly, and Jay, the owner is the sweetest and most accommodating host with the most! I love staying there and it feels like home, each and every time. Highly recommend! ❤️

Love the Windsor house !  Great central location near all the shops.  Very clean and spacious rooms . Enjoyed a meal at the lovely restaurant on  the main floor .  Best host going ❤️.  The house is gorgeous and full of so many lovely pieces of art . The courtyard is a must to check out great place to enjoy a cocktail 😉

St Andrews was packed and the few hotels with availability were either massively over priced or unpleasant (eg Algonquin). We stumbled on the Windsor by chance by seeing a vacancy sign- there was no trace online.

The hostelry is delightful with beautiful furnishings and art, a large rear garden and comfortable rooms. But best of all was Jay, the cultured and charming American owner who could not have been more hospitable. Very fair prices too considering what was happening in town. The bar is often open to non-residents, and Jay organises special dinners. One of the highlights of our trip- can’t recommend too highly.

Such a beautiful place!  Jay was so accommodating with helping me find an available night. From the moment we walked in the door, we were in awe!  Our room was beautiful, with a king size bed that was so comfortable. After checking in, we had drinks in the library bar and great conversation with Jay. Later, we came back to the bar for dessert!  The chocolate rhubarb carrot cake was to die for!  And thanks to Amy for taking care of us. She’s a gem. Would have loved to spend time in the courtyard, but the unfortunately, the weather didn’t cooperate. Think this may be an annual event for us!

The food was wonderfully delicious and the atmosphere was charming and cosy. The room we ate in looked like a lovely library in someone’s beautifully decorated home. If we weren’t leaving the city tomorrow morning we would eat her again tomorrow night!

If you come here for dinner you will not be disappointed!!!

Christmas shopping in Saint Andrews was a must for me, so I chose to stay two nights at Windsor House for its location... downtown amongst the beautiful boutiques and galleries. The result was my sleeping in a bedroom out of a Jane Austen novel. The furnishings and decor were breathtaking, and very comfortable. My room was large with a reading area in front of a beautiful fireplace, surrounded by amazing original artwork and two windows offering views of the water and the decorated shops. My private bath had a beautiful clawfoot tub and a wall-mounted tank with pull chain flush. Jay was a most gracious host, cooked delicious breakfasts while I enjoyed our conversations. I will return!

This is a lovely hotel which offers thoughtful, personal service. The property itself is historic and beautiful. The room we stayed in had exposed wooden beams, high ceilings, and tons of books to browse. Original artworks were everywhere. The innkeeper was very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. Breakfast was delicious and customized to what we wanted. It featured local jams and products which had been curated. In an era of short-term rentals these types of accommodations are a true gem and I would encourage anyone staying in St. Andrew’s to stay at Windsor House to experience what true accommodations should be.
