The room was really clean, the beds were really comfortable and the room was spacey. Very well kept.

The room was fine, modest and clean, the mattress was a little thin but for the price you can't really asked for more.Grocery store right across the street, refrigerator and microwave provided and cold AC, highly recommend if you're in a budget. Free continental breakfast, the front office staff wasn't very knowledge about the area but it's understandable because they're mostly foreign students so I get it, parking available next door but a little pricey, I parked my car at one of the city's structure which was about $15 a day Canadian dollars.I did see a lot of of homeless people around the area with glass pipes smoking crack in plain sight

It was ok, they need a ice machine for ice.

This is a good place to stay. It’s close to Parliament Hill. The rooms are clean. The complimentary continental breakfast is good.

Just don’t have own parking…otherwise really good place to stay in budget

Ok for the price

First, things first, you have to understand, you get what you paid for. It's a downtown property for a bargain price. Deals don't get much better than this for convenience and price.With that in mind, it's not that bad for the price, considering it's located right in downtown Ottawa with lots of interesting places and endless choice of restaurants in walking distance. There's a parking lot beside the hotel entrance, but it's pay parking.As for the suite itself, it's old and there's wear on many things, though still usable. Never had deal breaking issues, just minor inconveniences.For minimal packers, they provide some tissues, towels, soap, bodywash, shampoo, and conditioner. Bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste. Highly recommend packing slippers instead.Complimentary breakfast was alright too. It's no continental breakfast. There's your usual breakfast pastries, cereal, coffee, fruits, yogurt, juice, and there's practically no limit. I made like 3 trips from the buffet to my room with as much as I can carry and the staff didn't mind.Oops! I accidentally wrote an essay again. Anyways, if you have any issues like your flight or drive arriving past midnight, just call them and let them know, they let me in at like 4am.

Good value, centralized location with all sites and amenities within walking distance. Great eating choices at the Byward Market. Staff was very nice and helpful, special shoutout to Jenna for her great help in resolving my parking issue. Continental breakfast was very satisfying. Comfortable bed but air conditioning was a bit loud, but still okay. Overall, great location, friendly staff, clean facility at good prices and walking distance to Museums, restaurants, shopping and the beautiful Parliament Buildings! (a few homeless people, but God bless them .....🙏 )

Having recently stayed there, I can confidently say it delivers on several key fronts, making it a noteworthy choice for short-term visitors in Ottawa.The Good:Exceptional value: Without a doubt, one of the biggest draws of the Rideau Residence is its price point. It's genuinely cheap, offering significant savings compared to many other accommodations.Clean: Despite the budget-friendly rates, the residence maintains a good standard of cleanliness. My room was tidy upon arrival, and common areas appeared well-kept.Walkability: The location is truly fantastic. It's incredibly walkable to downtown Ottawa, allowing easy access to major attractions like Parliament Hill, the ByWard Market, and various museums. For shoppers, the proximity to Rideau Mall and Rideau Station is a huge favour, making it effortless to get around.Areas for Improvement:TV Functionality: While the room included a television, the experience was hampered by a TV remote that didn't work properly. This meant navigating channels was a frustrating ordeal.Limited Channel Availability: Compounding the remote issue, I found that many channel many channels had no signal.

Would definitely stay here again.  The location is perfect, everything is within walking distance.  The accommodation is pretty basic but it’s a great value for the money.  The staff is super helpful and friendly.  Parking is not included but there’s parking nearby.  Within walking distance to Parliament, a mall, LCBO and Metro.  I would recommend this for anyone who just need a place to stay and enjoy the city.

The bed was very comfortable and the laminated wood floors added a nice clean modern touch.  Great value with lots of supermarkets and restaurants within short walking distance.  The continental breakfast was a bonus even if it was a bit limited in variety.  Stayed here on several different occasions.

The rooms are very basic but clean.  The front desk ladies were amazing.  Our television didn’t work, and I expressed that my partner would be working and I would be staying most of the time in the room and would need television.  She had the technician come and look but couldn’t fix it.  She then looked at their other properties and moved us to the property on campus, which was a two bedroom suite.  She went above and beyond to accommodate me.  Not to mention when we first got there it was 10:30, and she had us come back at 12 pm so we could check in early instead of at 4pm.  The staff are amazing at this location and the campus location.  Would definitely recommend both locations.  The Rideau is right across from a lcbo so yes there are homeless people hanging out but they don’t bother anyone.  The campus location was very safe.

Everything was great and the staff were very helpful. The only thing to note is the mattresses are very hard, which I like. A new grocery store (METRO) is opening across the street for your munchies. There's lots of fast food options in the area.The area and the walk to the Rideau Centre is through a very sketchy area with lots of homeless, drug users and pan handlers.

Great clean and quiet stay.

Good place for overnite stay. The downsides are there is no coffee in the rooms or the lobby, and the coffee shops open only at 6:00 am. Also the parking can only be paid 1 day at a time, so you need to rush at 5:00 am to pay for the day... without coffee.
It’s well located to the area we needed to get around, so we left the car at the hotel parking. Also the hotel extended our stay for free for the event taking place during the weekend.


Good for overnite stay

This was my first visit to the Nations Capital with my family.  The rooms at the residence were very clean and spacious.  Both our rooms had 2 double beds which were very comfortable, clean linens, air conditioning and we had a great view. The girls at the front desk were fantastic and just so very helpful.
I would definitely recommend this residence/hotel to anyone visiting Ottawa.
