Garden South Park Inn

Nice rooms, clean, and perfect for a long weekend getaway in Halifax. You can walk to everything the city has to offer from this hotel. Staff was super friendly. Place was quiet. Definitely will stay here again.

Excellent value for its location. Very clean room which included a mini fridge and coffee maker. Complete continental breakfast.

Overall lovely stay and friendly staff. Only downside was the room right next to the reception is quiet noisy as you can hear everybody coming in and out and their conversations at check-in. I'm sure the other rooms wouldn't have this issue.

The large Victorian era property is across the street from the QE II Health Science Centre. Great, very accommodating staff. Clean and well maintained property. Good continental  breakfast. Close proximity to restaurants. Certainly recommend the Inn.

Really recommended for others please come and enjoy the wonderful stay in garden inn very nice service provided by front people as well as housekeepers and the price was so good they serve coffee and tea till 8 pm really love this place thanku so much for a wonderful stay.

A great little property in the heart of downtown.  Loved it and the breakfast.

My son and I had an amazing stay. We were there only one night, after a long drive and we really enjoyed the central location near the Citadel. Parking was free and easy and we walked to a super nice French restaurant nearby. The room was clean and comfortable, with real mugs for coffee. Since we had to leave super early the next morning, the host brought us muffins, yogourts, eggs and juice so we could have an early breakfast when we wake up. I really recommend this place!

Cozy and friendly inn downtown Halifax

We were so warmly greeted upon our arrival. The inn is a darling quirky place with so much character. We were able to park free, in the back lot, because it’s November which was a lovely bonus!It was so easy to order delivery to our room (a luxury we’ve missed since moving to a small town) and I loved the atmosphere of this place.

Great place, included a wonderful breakfast.Stairwells were a little confusing, that was just the old house.Laundry available after hours.Nice bright loom with lots of space.Great Internet throughout the location.Walkable to the waterfront and tourist museums and tourist attractions.Very enjoyable stay.

Quaint little property downtown, easily walkable to shopping and dining options. Nice light Continental breakfast. Front desk very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Free parking in the back for the month of November, which was handy, however very limited spots. Which is to be expected, after all you’re downtown 😊
The room was great, however it was very tired, needing the walls, doors and carpets thoroughly cleaned. BitI did overhear staff talking to carpet cleaners in the phone so that is being addressed.  But keep in mind this is an older building that has been around for some time. Would any of these factors prevent me from staying again? Absolutely not! The friendliness of the staff, the great location and the charm of the building made the stay so worthwhile.  Thank you!

Lovely stay

No complaints. The staff were friendly and helpful. The housekeeping was diligent and rigorous. The room was always clean. The complimentary breakfast was delicious, and I never once felt unsafe. The bed was incredibly comfy. I’ve never slept better in a bed that isn’t my own! I will definitely be coming back here next time!

Amazing

Oldie world hotel, bedroom was ok, had bath with excellent shower. Wardrobe doors were hanging off, so left them open. Plenty of storage space, coffee maker and fridge, plus 2 bottles of water daily.What let it down? there are no lifts, from the street to the front door and from reception to all floors stairs. And no one to help with your luggage.Not disable friendly.Second thing was the breakfast, it's not cheap to stay in Canada, cereal, fruit juice, bread and bagels, boiled eggs and fruit.. I think one day there was scrambled egg, that disappeared on day 2&3, and watermelon disappeared on day 3. This was supposed to be a continental breakfast??? Worse breakfast I've ever seen.Good location for train and bus station, easy walk into downtown and public gardens and citadel.

The building and rooms are old but well kept, clean and comfortable. Our room included an old style jet tub, which we enjoyed one evening. Bed was comfortable.  Room had AC, which was nice. This was a good location for walking to the Public Gardens and the waterfront.  A full continental breakfast with lots to choose from was very filling.  The staff was friendly and helpful. Over all a good experience and would recommend!

A good place to stay

Lovely characterful hotel in Halifax. Within easy walking of the sea front and the gardens. The staff on reception are super friendly and helpful. One review mentions the check out time, but we had no issues with early check out, we just let the staff know the night prior and our bill was sorted out that evening. Breakfast is fine, a little basic, but fair amount of choice and quantity. Rooms were comfortable and clean. A great value choice.

Quirky hotel with very friendly helpful staff.

I recently stayed at the Garden South Park Inn while visiting Halifax and I'm so glad I did! The B&B was very nice and the room was clean and comfortable. The staff were lovely and the location was perfect! I picked this B&B so I could park my rental and walk around beautiful downtown Halifax. My only criticism would be to offer breakfast earlier. Breakfast starts at 7:45 am and most people who are in town on vacation like to get an earlier start. Myself and other guests were waiting in the beautiful lobby waiting for our breakfast and all commenting that an earlier breakfast would have been better. Other than that, I loved my stay at the Garden South Park Inn and would gladly stay again.

Great B&B withing walking distance of downtown Halifax!

Excellent location for us and we were able to just leave our car and walk to everywhere we needed to be. We were even able to walk downtown to the waterfront to see the sights. The surrounding neighbourhood seemed very safe at night. The Inn was very clean and the continental breakfast was well laid out. A warm, comfortable environment overall. This property does not have an elevator so we had to carry our luggage up and down 2 flights of stairs. Being 80ish, this was not so easy.  Staff did offer help if we needed it. Our towels had seen better days, and we would have liked to have had extra towels in the room when we arrived.  A second towel rack would certainly help keep things organized in the bathroom. The Inn’s website did not say that there was a mini fridge in the room. We were surprised to find one!
