The Stewart House Bed & Breakfast

What a terrific experience we had staying at The Stewart House. Jean, the owner, was a delight to be around. She made us feel so welcome during our stay - one night while we attended The Shaw. We arrived mid afternoon and the first order of business after showing us our room and getting settled was tea and shortbread - delicious. Jean was generous with her time and knowledge of the area, offering insights as only a local can. Being my first visit to a B&B, I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable it was to be in someone else’s home. The room we had was well appointed and had everything needed to make our stay comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and well stocked with supplies in the event a visitor forgets something. Breakfast was terrific with Jean being very flexible with when we ate in the morning. Between fresh fruit, yoghurt, granola, French toast, sausage, bacon and mushrooms, i was concerned I wouldn’t have room for the homemade scones but I persevered 😀. The selection of jams and marmalade were the perfect finish to a delightful meal to start the day. Jean is a natural hostess and certainly could be described as the “hostess with the mostest”. Looking forward to a return visit where I’m sure it will be like visiting a family member.
