we did not pay for gold taps and did not get them no we were not disappointed
however it was clean and comfortable the bar staff and locals were very helpful and we had a great night in the bar chatting and playing pool 
There was no food but we got an evening meal a few minutes away at Sandmans which was well priced and very tasty

Quiet. Glimpse into the past. I was the only guest when I checked in. The bar may have been open but no one was there. Matt was the friendly in-charge. Bring your laptop for watching movies. The TV screen was like 12" ... but no complaint as I was too tired to watch anything.

It’s old but it was clean and tidy - microwave, fridge and tv 📺 in room - don’t expect the Hilton and enjoy the small town feel - the bar is basic too but you can play pool and enjoy local company -  no meals served at the hotel   - across the road is a coffee shop - Beanery 2 - make sure you stop by

Got exactly what we expected to get for what we paid

Small town hotel 

It's for sale ... at least that's what the sign says

An old hotel and typical of a small town. Nothing fancy. No front desk or amenities. The room was clean and looked out at the mountains. The woman who checked us in from the bar downstairs was friendly. If you just need a place to sleep this hotel does the trick in an affordable no-frills way. We would stay there again. My favourite thing was the “phone” in the lobby.

Simple But Adequate

The lobby and stairs to the rooms was dark with a security door locked at the top which the room key opened but it also opened other rooms in the hotel which is pretty bad. It was clean but old. It's close to the railroad track so there is some noise. It is inexpensive so if you are on a budget it works.

On our arrival day we called ahead at approx. 9pm to ask a question and had to find out that our room was occupied and that perhaps there might be no other room available. The phone was answered by the bartender who had no insight whatsoever in what was going on but she was friendly and called her boss to inquire. About 30 minutes later she called back to say that there was a room and that they would quickly get it ready for us.
Upon our arrival we received our room key in the downstairs bar as there is no reception desk. When we entered the room, our shock was not small: the floor was very dirty and had definitely not been cleaned after the previous guest and one of the towels had a crusty stain. Perhaps the cleanliness of the room was so miserable because they weren't prepared and quickly had to whip it up but that didn't make it any more pleasant for us.The hotel in general and our room in particular are in dire need of some care. $95 is absolutely immoderate and we will definitely rather stay in a tent the next time around.
