Sunset Suites

We were doing floor varnishing in our house, so we looked for a "hideout" for a family of 4 adults and 2 kids. This looked very interesting from the start, and additionally had some particular features I will bring your attention to. We booked a 4 1/2 (2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms) Premium apartment. The unit was very spacious, recently renovated, very clean, and looked better than one we saw in December, 2016, when we booked the apartment for 5 days in February 2017. The building is in prestigious neighborhood in Montreal called Town of Mount Royal. Building is close to Highway 15/40 West-East, so if with a car, there is an easy access to highways. If you want tlo get to Downtown Montreal, you have two options: you can take your car (not recommended) by accessing the Jean Talon street (goes East-West) or Cote-des-Neges street (goes South-North). However, parking in the city of Montreal is Mission Impossible, so I strongly suggest you walk 10 minutes to the center of TMR, and there, you will find: very frequent bus 165 (brings you to blue Metro line, or straight to downtown), or the train station, that will bring you to downtown Windsor train station. I highly recommend the train option; train schedule is easy found on the web site (not allowed to post). In the center of TMR, you can find several restaurants, for breakfast (Leonidas, bakery Premier Moisson) and for lunch and dinner (Dupond-Dupond, La Pizzaiolle, Galo, sushi Sakana). I do not think we would go for this apartment building in the future (I hope we are good with floors for the next 10 years), but I do highly recommend the place for both short and a long term stay in Montreal. I was looking for apartments throughout Montreal, and I can tell you the following: apartments in downtown are very expensive (same size was double price) and if you have a car, good luck finding the parking option. Even you come without car, you will find convenient public transport 10 minutes from the building. So, in y mind, it is a win-win combination. In order for this review not to look biased (orf let alone paid) I have had two (and only two) complains. The first one is that apartment was missing a dishwasher. However, I think as they have put us in a recently renovated apartment, the machine must be on its way, as there is clearly space left in the (otherwise very nice) kitchen. The second complaint is not much management could do something - in one of the bathrooms, the guy doing ceramics spilled the glue (or its residuals) on the brand new ceramic floor. It is not end of the World, but in such nice apartment, it really bothers the eyes. All I could hope is that the owners would never hire this ceramic guy again - who clearly had attitude: tke the money and run.
