Do not recommend this hotel, overpriced for you get. Dirty room (dirt and hair around furniture and underneath beds, nails, dirty shower curtain, etc), old linens, not enough blankets, see through window curtains on ground level, very noisy rooms, no coffee, rundown furniture.

Stayed for 2 nights in the kenora area to enjoy the sites. Exterior definitely needs an update but the rooms inside are recently done. We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite with access to the large deck out front with tables and chairs. Very nice room and safe and quiet location for our bikes. Definitely felt safer staying there than some of the other hotels in town. Only complaint was TV troubles and they discounted us for that. Will definitely be my choice when coming to kenora.

Kenora bike trip

Experience definitely not worth $130 a night plus tax. ($151) Rooms these days aren’t clean like they used to be. Found lots of hair in the bed. Use fabric softener to help with that! Fingerprints on walls and door. Not sure what the heck I paid for. Hot as hell and the a/c smells like it’s in the middle of a forest fire. Very noisy outside and in, like it’s coming from the next room. Will not stay again

Not worth it

We stayed here for one night on a road trip, and chose this hotel only because everything else in Kenora was booked.  You can tell from the pictures that this place is not a first-rate property by any stretch of the imagination, but upon arrival, any fears you might have about it will be confirmed.  Others have commented on the rude staff, but I have my own comment.  When we arrived, we had been on the road for a while and I needed to use the toilet.  There are both mens' and womens' toilets off the lobby.  My traveling companion was handling the check-in, which was taking a few minutes, so I went to the mens' room and found the door locked.  When I went back to the desk and asked if I could have a key to the toilet, the clerk simply replied with an emphatic "No".  She said I could use the toilet in the room, once we were checked in.  That little exchange pretty much set the tone for the whole stay.  

As for the room, as bad as it was, it may have been the best part of the experience.  Ignoring the long hair that was draped across my pillow, and the stains on the bed cover (Were they simply spilled beverages, or were they bodily fluids? We'll never know.) the room had the appearance of maybe having been cleaned within the previous week.  At least the bed was made and the towels were folded, which gave the appearance that perhaps the sheets and towels had been washed recently.  I could go on, but you get the picture.  All-in-all, a bad experience.

Stay Away

Stayed here (formerly Tower Motor Hotel now Waterview Inn) and was very impressed! Don't be fooled by the exterior, this hotel is super cute. The rooms were very clean and looks like they were recently spruced up with a clean white look.

We booked this hotel because it was cheaper then a lot of the other hotels in Kenora and being Harbour Fest weekend it was a great deal.

Our room is on the second floor and there is a view of Lake of the Woods. There is however a long gazebo style hall that is extremely hot because of the AC units but once you're in your room it's very cool. (It was very hot that day so I'm guessing it's not always like that)

Definitely will be staying here the next time we are in Kenora!!

Don’t let the exterior fool you!

Nothing like photos. Parking lot is gravel. Cases must be carried up exterior wood stairs to reach very hot interior glassed-in hallway with filthy carpet.

Lobby like something out of a movie featuring  pay-by-the-hour hotel rooms; dimly lit, had roll-up metal shutter. Had to phone from lobby for the only employee to check us in. (She said she was the receptionist and cleaner.)

Room very small; not enough electrical outlets; only ventilation a noisy heating/A/C unit; no coffee maker;  no hair dryer; only one hard chair; 3 pillows for 2 people; only a sheet and  thin bedspread, no spare blanket. No guest folder with hotel and local info (we saw no dining room); wouldn’t take bank debit card.

Bathroom tiny, with mould in shower stall. No vanity; had to pile stuff on the sides of the sink; single bar of soap for shower and sink.

Privacy and security an issue: rooms open onto a hallway (the only view from the room) onto which the a/c vents, so it’s baking hot. Anyone walking past can see into the room unless you pull the curtains and sit in darkness or artificial light. Worse, there is no security bar or even a deadbolt on the door.

The whole building is dilapidated and in need of serious cleaning and renovation.

The room cost more than a much better Comfort Inn room (with hot breakfast)  in Regina. The only reason we stayed was that we had driven from Regina and were too tired to look for another hotel.

Worst motel experience ever

Front desk attendent was rude and useless. Booked room and had email confirmation told us they gave away our room and upgraded us but it was $10 more.  When we booked told us $20 for the dogs, upon arrival said that was just so we could stay there with dogs, it was another $20 for cleaning up which there was NOTHING to clean up!  
this place says pet friendly and there is no green space for dogs to pee on, patch in the very back among the trucks, not a safe area.

when we called to ask if there was a restaurant on the property she said it closed 5 years ago, like we should have know that.
we told her we would be checking out at 6:30 she said she didnt start until 7am.  that we would have to wait until then
NO ice machine on property, that is unheard of

Don't stay here!

I booked a room here (I had booked for the wrong day which is 100% MY fault due to a computer glitch). When I arrived on the night I thought I booked (May 10th), the lady at the front desk didn't even say hello to me, she just barked "You're 3 hours late!". She then told me my room had been booked for the 12th, but I had booked it for the 11th (Again, my mistake). I told her that that was the check out date (Thinking that it was the 11th and not the 10th). She kept telling me that I was wrong and that my check in was the 12th (she clearly didn't know the correct date either). She was unable to be polite and kindly tell me that I had the wrong date, as she was busy yelling at me. The hotel itself was also dirty and unkempt.
