HI Jasper

This hostel is the go to for our annual friends trip. The rooms are clean and beds fairly comfy. The cafe has great lattes and breakfast sandwiches. This time we played pool and also participated in the weekly Sunday Sip and Paint event…lots of fun…and is free! It’s a less than 5 minute walk to Connaught Drive so close to shops and restaurants.

Really nice place with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and the food was excellent.  The atmosphere is great and you can have a conversation without having to yell to be heard.  Hella our server was fantastic!  She is very friendly and helpful.  The prices are really reasonable.  Would definitely recommend eating here and will come back again at my next visit.

Best hostel of the trip! This is a large, modern, hostel a short walk from town. The communal areas downstairs are large and spacious with plenty of seating areas and seemed to actually encourage conversation - this is the only hostel I’ve found this trip where people were friendly and wanted to hang out with other travellers. The dorm was incredibly hot and the design of the doors is poor, you have to squeeze past someone’s head to get out, but still liked it. The kitchen was fantastic, and had gas hobs!!

Lovely staff, very clean. Excellent kitchen facilities and rec room. Very close to town, a short walk under the train line. Definitely recommend this place. Plus we saw elk across the road! Also has amazing views of the mountains.

First the disclaimer: we stayed at this hostel during a week in which the temperatures were not too high. The rooms didn't feel excessively hot. I've seen many reviews complaining about the temperatures. It wasn't our case. However, we noticed that the windows can only be open partially. An easy fix for the hostel is to modify the windows to allow for a bigger opening.

The pros: exceptional very complete kitchen- exceptional family room with countless time playing billiard ball- top customer service and I'm sorry I can't remember the names, but let me illustrate: excellent hiking advise, we actually changed our plans based on their opinion; they let us take a shower after we checked out since we were sleeping in another hostel of the group that doesn't have showers- super clean everywhere including the kitchen (thanks staff)- very helpful when we looked to extend our stay by 1 night. One of the guys at the reception came to me to push me buy the Maligne lake cruise tickets soon because he noticed that availability was limited. No business for the hostel, just plain top customer service. Building is new, all facilities updated, and only a short walk to the Jasper main street. Cafe was good. Plenty of elk roaming around.

The cons: none. Especially in a place like Jasper where is so difficult to find affordable accommodation. Again, we didn't have the room temperature problem. We did though in the hostels in Banff and Lake Louise, and wonder the wisdom of not having built an AC system in the times of global warming for a new building like the one in Jasper. 

Our setup: we are 4, so we had a private dorm for our family.

Stayed with my daughter in the all female dorm.  Lovely modern, clean, well designed well equipped hostel.  5 min walk from downtown.  Friendly, helpful staff. Great kitchen, TV room, hangout area. Only suggestion is air con in the rooms and more parking. Would definitely return.

One of the best hostels that we stayed. Staff are friendly, our room was large and very clean. Common kitchen was well organize. I can cook my own food during vacation. There’s a recreation room with pool table  The place was few minutes walk to the town centre.

I highly recommend this place. Great vacation place.

We were on a quick tour of the parks from Edmonton thru Jasper/Banff  with skiing at Sunshine. Stayed at the hostel for 1 night. The hostel is very modern and comfortable. Reasonable walk to main street and ammenities. Very clean rooms! Friendly staff!
Shared bathroom between 2 rooms. Cafe and very large/modern kitchen for self cooking. Elevator for mobile challenged. Pool table and lovely lounge area to hang out. As a hostelling experience goes this was great! Free parking as well and lock up area for equipment although we just transferred to the car overnight.

Traveled from Edmonton area with our daughter and her 3 small children (ages 7, almost 3 and only 3 months old!) for a ski trip in Jasper.

Hubby went earlier and he purchased a Costco Jasper Marmot Basin 2 consecutive day pass. This also gave us an awesome discount on hotel rooms!  We stayed at the Chateau Jasper which was normally $235 and with the Costco discount it was only $139 (even lower on week days!).  There are other discounts on it, too for ski rental, restaurants, other lift passes, etc. (see pics attached)

Chateau Jasper hotel was great!  We had 2 queen beds and a had a separate sink with microwave, small fridge and coffee maker. Also had pool and hot tub which was nice after a day on the hill. 

Staff at Marmot Basin were really awesome and very friendly and helpful. Our youngest little skier was 2 years old and free on the Magic Carpet.  By the end of the weekend he had it mastered ... he was on and off the magic carpet by himself, through the pylons and obstacles, he had a blast!

The 7 year old mastered it too and she moved onto the School House lift.  This grandma just did the School House lift pass, too (it's only about $35 for any age for the whole the day) allowing me to enjoy skiing time with both kids and also could help with the baby at the table area which was right at the top of the learning hill.

We ended our wonderful weekend  trip with an awesome lunch in Jasper called Wafflato (see pics attached for menu, it was really yummy 😋).

When you are travelling to a hostel, you have certain expectations of what you might find. In this case our overall experience was better than we thought. We went on December to spend Christmas in the beautiful Jasper. Being Christmas the hostel was not crowded, not noisy at all. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The place was very clean, we stayed in a private room and it was also super clean. The kitchen is well equipped and with lots of space. Great vibes in general, I would repeat if I ever go back to Jasper.

Great value and great location

Really nice place away from the crowds!

We booked this hostel as part of our road trip around the Canadian Rockies and were pleasantly surprised by this hostel. It is a great location (only a 5 minute walk into the main town). It is very modern, clean and the communal areas were well equipped. 

Our only slight niggles - the room could be very hot meaning we had to sleep with the window open letting in all the noise of the nearby train, which ran every 30-60 mins 24 hours a day! The bathrooms/ showers are to connected to 2 rooms meaning you have 8 people sharing one toilet and shower which could be an issue if you had a couple of people needing to be ready at the same time.

Very nice hostel, we enjoyed our short stay very much. The hostel has a good location, free parking space, a well equipped kitchen, a nice lounge and at last also great rooms. Our room and private bathroom was very clean and the staff very helpful to make arrangements if necessary.

Very modern hostel, verging on a hotel, with a modern and specious kitchen, sitting area and tv room, as well as a cafe and free parking.  The center of Jasper is a 5 minute walk away. The rooms were functional and clean.

Family Visit to Jasper

Friendly staff, nice open communal spaces and a short walk from town. 

Train isn’t really that disruptive although could be if you’re a light sleeper, we just wore ear plugs and heard nothing. 

Had a family room with private bathroom for about 400 Canadian dollars, or 240 GBP, which felt a bit steep for one night in a hostel.
