ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!  This was a "Bucket List" event and the staff didn't disappoint!  It was like going to camp!  We went on a day pass which included lunch.  Lunch was not great.  Sorry, but it was hot dogs and hamburger fare, but it fit with the camp theme.  My husband and I were early so we visited the tuck shop and played some bean bag toss.  Camp stuff!  They had campfires and such going.  Very nice!  Then we went White Water Rafting!  FANTASTIC!  The water was low but the excitement level was great.  Scott was our guide and kept the event fun (even during the quiet paddling times).  It was exciting, and exhilarating and exhausting and everything we wanted!  Thanks so much for a wonderful experience!  I would go again.  I would bring friends and family to go again.  I would recommend strangers to go!  Just Go!

The Ottawa rivers got alot of rafting but this place is unique in the sence that there are real raft guides not children taking people down the river.  Adults who work all over the world are professional and know how to deliver the ride of your life.

White Water Rafting Tour

We did the 2 day white water rafting tour where you raft on the 12 person boat first and then a 6 person boat. There is no comparison between the boats... the 6 person boat is hands down the better boat on all levels!!! More control, easier to communicate with your guide, and more adrenaline!!!
Our guide Bill was absolutely amazing! I mean he was married on the Ottawa river so we really could not have found a guide with more enthusiasm and love for the river! From the very beginning of the day he made everyone on our boat feel safe, comfortable and confident taking risks to push ourselves to the next level! We really could not have had a better experience!
The whole river run team are spectacular and actually compete for Canada in world wide rafting competitions...these guys know their stuff so you are always in good hands!

River Run Camping

Absolutely amazing camping facilities! One of the best campsites I have ever been to! What is so great about RiverRun is you have access to all kinds of sporting equipment such as kayaks, canoes, stand up paddle boards, fishing rods, etc. ALL FREE OF CHARGE AND UNLIMITED ACCESS while you stay!!!!  The lake/river onsite also, has a Beaver Dam with about 5 or 6 Beavers, so you are in for a true Canadian experience when they come out in the mornings and evenings.
If you go for the meal plan you are in for a treat as it is all BBQ and home cooked comfort food! I felt like I was eating at my Grandmother's house the entire weekend! The food is healthy and hearty... yet full of comfort! And just like Grandma, they serve large portions so you never go hungry!

My only wish is that this place stayed open during the week so we could have stayed longer!!


Great place for groups staying here with kids, lots to do!  We stayed in the London House which is the largest of the cabin and the only one with WIFI.  No Air conditioning other than two window unite, and the fridge is a little small for being in the largest cabin.  Other wise the park is quiet beautiful and the people are very friendly.  Highly recommended.

My wife and I stayed here while kayaking on the Ottawa River.  There are some very nice things about the place.  If you want to kayak on the Ottawa, it's very well placed - it has its own convenient take out, it's close to the put in or park-and-play spots, it's not far from some good places to eat, etc.  The people are generally very friendly.  the camp sites seemed fine, especially the upper ones, which were less crowded with kids on rafting trips.  The covered area was nice to hang out in, even when it was a bit rainy, as it was when we were there.  There were a few things that could be improved on, though, or that were less than wonderful.

We stayed in a small, fairly simple cabin.  It was okay, but putting a plug in it (it did have electricity) would be a huge improvement for little difficulty.  Also, our particular cabin had a leak in the roof, which was a bit annoying given that it was raining when we were there.  Not a big leak, so not a big deal, but they should be checked over.  

There are some "real" toilets, but they are limited.  The outhouses were very smelly and needed some sort of treatment.  I'm not too sensitive to such things, but these ones made me think I'd puke.  Also, lots of flies, and some doors that don't lock.  The showers are in principle pretty good, but needed to be cleaned a bit more often.  They were often pretty dirty, making them unpleasant to use to a degree.  

The road to the camping areas from the main road was a mess - very wash-boarded and also deep ruts.  This made driving in and out pretty hard and unpleasant.  It should be grated more often.  

Over-all, this is a good place to stay, not too expensive, good location and a friendly staff, but some points that could be easily fixed would make it even better.  I hope they will be fixed soon.

Actual real Professional Raft guides

Rafting experience was a lot of fun. Our guide Bill was fabulous - very detailed, safety conscience, and contributed greatly to making the experience very enjoyable.

Two complaints:  We went back to the camp for lunch at the end of the rafting trip.  The lunch was mediocre at best.  The food ran out, and the choice was very limited. 

We bought a DVD of our trip, and were told we could call if there were any problems.  The DVD would play on a computer, however the sound did not work on the television DVD player. After half a dozen calls to River Run asking for help and information and an additional DVD, no one returned our call.  Unfortunate.
