Very clean and tidy, good size room for the cost

Hotel was good. Bed & pillows good. The place is a little outdated. Could use new carpeting as it is dirty. Check-in was good. Small room, but for the price good. Grounds are clean.

Right on the highway to the Tyrell museum.  Busy road even at night.  Thin walls make it a noisy sleep. Floors are definitely not level or solid but they keep it very clean.

Overall good stay, good location to drumheller attractions.

This place was very clean, the staff were very friendly and gave us idea for places to visit.  The lights in the bathroom were flickering none stop and the tap in the sink was falling off if we were pushing to hard.

Conveniently located. Good size room with kitchenette

Everything was top rate. Even the restaurant served fresh, locally grown food.

Readily accessible, wonderful instant hot water

Office.. very friendly and accommodating.  Wonderful restaurant.. lots of locals visit also.

Yes, the bathroom is more or less the size of a closet. And does it really matter? It was clean and on a budget holiday I’m spending most of my time off doing things, not hanging around in the room. The attached restaurant WHIFS is lively and filled with happy families and trains and dinosaurs. What more can you ask for?😎

Property clean fresh paint my room. Bed good.  Dripping sink but looks like once a plumber can deal it will rectified.   Quiet area. Easy access. Seating outside in shade if needed is warmer months. Restaurant Looks to be good to eat at as well. No looking for a place to eat as attached. Recommend for a quick night stay.  Friendly staff.

We stopped to stay on our visit to the Tyrell Museum. The staff was accommodating & friendly. The property is in need of updating so if you like a clean but nostalgic feel to your motel stay, I would recommend it. Plus they helped my son find his forgotten souvenir & were willing to help return it to us.

This is an older property and we have stayed here before. They have done some upgrades since then and the room we are in tonight is quite nice. New flooring, new taps and sink and feels clean. The room is spacious, all in all for the price point I’m pleased. It was just a one night stay and perfectly adequate for that.

For the price in peak tourist season you can't really complain!   Convenient to everything, with a great restaurant attached.   This place is old and structurally you can tell - ie wobbly uneven floors.   The room we had could use a spruce up but the beds were comfortable, coffee in the room and a spotless washroom.  Staff are friendly and easy going.  Check in was quick and simple.  Would stay again.

Cheap and cheerful!

The rooms were just what we expected for a budget motel, very basic. There were a few cosmetic issues but nothing that impacted our stay in anyway. Everything was visibly clean, but we had wipes and wiped down all of the high touch areas. The beds were very comfy. And the very generous size bar fridge was a great addition. The motel was quiet and we felt very safe. The on-site restaurant was amazing and was extremely busy with locals (which is always a good thing!). We travelled with a dog and there were no issues whatsoever, very pet friendly (offering us a dog blanket for our pooch. Remember, this isn’t the Hilton, it’s a motel, adjust your expectations and you won’t be disappointed.

Great stay, excellent value!

We initially thought to check out the place prior for us booking our stay there and the receptionist were so nice even the owner Jay Lee.  They let us show one room for us to take a look and see how their room looks like.  Jay even give us a deal that if we book for at least 7 nights we get 1 free night free which you cannot see online.  The place is easy to find using google map.  When me and my husband decided to book, we just phone Jay and did our booking.  At first we just book for few nights since I cannot have a longer leave at work but when my boss decided to allow me to have a longer leave, we phone Jay right away and he was able to still reserve our room for a longer period than what was initially booked which we appreciate a lot.  We got a room close to the office and restaurant.  The room is big enough for us to move around, kitchen area is cute, though the couch we have in our room seems needs replacement as you are somehow like seating on the floor and the tub is somehow slippery so need to be careful though they provide a rubber mat.  The aircon location is somehow a bit loud and hard to get the right temperature and is near the tv so it is somehow difficult to watch tv when the AC is on.  Wifi is not so strong, at times difficult to get wifi connection.  The flooring in the sofa area needs to be fix as well as there are chip flooring.  Cleaning sometimes you need to tell them that you want the room clean/vacuum even if you put the tag at your door as it seems tidying the room is just replenishing the toiletries and getting the garbage not fixing the beddings or do some vacuuming/sweeping the floor/carpet.  Majority of the cleaners are nice and pleasant except for one instance that the cleaner told us that they are already done cleaning our side of the place so they said they have to clean it another day or we can do the cleaning as they are offering us the vacuum.  Overall the place is good based on the price you pay, easy checkin/checkout, the accessibility of the location and the amenities included in your room.  We would still come back and stay here.

Badland Motel Experience

We just stayed here for September long 2020. For a little dated motel on the outside but renovated and clean on the inside was gem, for all that complain go pay the big price somewhere else. Nice to be able to support a small business.  This price is great for the budget. Good location easy to get too. Then the food well there is only one word to say FANTASTIC and super busy I can now see why, farm fresh eggs and the potato pancakes are to die for, you won’t leave hungry, All the staff are very friendly would recommend to anyone to stay here, we will definitely be back.

Great place to stay

We quite enjoyed this road-side motel.  The room was big enough for me and two teenagers-though I did get a suit, which made things manageable-lol.  It is well situated and about a 5-7 minute bike ride to town and many other attraction.  Being a motel, it was easy to unload the car as well.  The attached resto provided a great breakfast.  We'll stay here again.

Consider the Badlands Motel When in D-heller

Happy to have saved a bit of cash staying here. Rooms are old and very dated but we saved a heap and were still able to stick to our budget and do the fun things as a family that we wanted to and more, we only used the rooms for sleeping so it was totally fine. The bed sheets and towels were white and spotless and the bathroom/kitchen sparkling clean, a few stains on the carpet, but nothing too extreme. Our bathroom had biodegradable packaging for toiletries which is a huge bonus, it was quiet and we slept well. Great option for the thrifty traveller!
