Grand Mountain Lodge

Our family camping road trip ended up taking us into Alberta all by happenstance. We ended up stopping in at Grande Cache as a night of reprieve from camping due to unfortunate weather. We got a nice, clean, 2 bedroom room with a kitchenette and most importantly a shower. We pretty much had the whole half of the building to ourselves so it was really nice. The best was turned up really high though, so got quite warm during the night. 

Just returned from a 4 day stay at Grande Mountain Lodge. Although it doesn't look like much from the outside the rooms are actually well equipped & clean. I was most impressed by the fact the rooms are not carpeted but had hardwood floors. Our room had a small kitchenette & a maid came everyday to make the bed & replace bathroom towels. The view from our room was also spectacular! I would stay here again.

The hotel is near the edge of town and adjacent to a lake/marsh/wildlife sanctuary. We got a steak from a specialty meat store and cooked  it on the communal propane bbq which was spotless a really good meal. In the  morning we walked all of the trails and were treated to hundreds of ducks and geese

Lovely town, with an unfortunate story

Very disappointed with this hotel. We stayed here for work (oilfield) and hopefully never have to again. The bedding had stains, and burn marks. The mattresses weren't too clean, and unfortunately discovered bugs crawling around the mattress. A lot of the doors do not shut properly. Our shower felt like I was getting a tattoo done. The continental breakfast consists of toast and cereal. We never got our rooms cleaned for the first 4 days we stayed here. The floors inside the rooms are linoleum flooring, they clearly vacuum the floor but I do not this they've actually wiped the floor in months as my feet where black from dirt, 2 minutes after my shower. 

Dirty hotel

Well if your looking for class and comfort this is not the place. Doors don't open and close properly, T.V don't work, no wifi and the customer service is horrible. As well you can hear everything outside and next door.
