When we arrived there were a few issue due to it being the end of the season, and things that were clearly out of Huba Huba's control, but Cameron was nothing short of fantastic and did everything within his power to find solutions.  We had a truly amazing break here.  I would definitely recommend this place and will be returning.

Loved this place, was so ideal after the week of travelling and moving around to just relax and do nothing here right on the beach.

Staff are great, really friendly and can't do enough for you. Food was also great and decently priced considering where you are located. I found the location much better than Saracen bay which is nice but the beach is completely packed with accommodation, bars and restaurants, whereas at sunset Beach you have far more space and sand. Also good snorkeling.

The hike to the beach across the island isn't too bad but was tougher than I expected. Rucksacks and backpacks are fine but wouldn't recommend suitcases.

HubaHuba is a beautiful spot to stay on KR Samloem.
We arrived on the Orchid Pier and after a little hike of 30min we arrived on Sunset Beach. We followed the beach till we hit Huba Huba (last on the beach).
Friendly host offered a big glass of water, which was very welcome after a 30min hike at 30degrees.

We booked a bungelow in advanced whitout belcony for 3 nights. The room was clean and big enough. A bed including klamboo, pillows, towels and electricity a few ours a day. 
We stayed in the end of the dry season(end March) so we’re requested to be carefull with waterconsumption(showering). What wasnt a problem for us because we can have a full shower with only 1,5liter, after a cleaning swim in the ocean. Don’t go there if you want wifi, full day electricity and 20min showers. 

We took the Huba Huba breakfast and eat every night at the bar. All dishes and the BBQ where very very good! 

Our recommandation to stay at Huba Huba.

About the island:
If you have the possibilty, go to the KR Samloem asap. Because there is already some road-construction work from Caracanbay to other beaches, which will destroy the jungle. 
On the island there is a high hippie level, what gives a relaxed vipe.

This is the place to be! Who needs  wifi and electricity 24/7 if you have  the definately best beach on the island where you can easily swim in beautiful turquoise water. If you don't expect a 5 star luxury resort you will be awarded with friendly, welcoming people and have one of the best times of your life. Just place yourself in one of the comfortable hammock enjoy great drinks and delicious food. I haven't seen a better place in years!

I'm happy I took the time to eat here and enjoy the beautiful view. Decent prices and good food and drinks. The further you go away from the Robinson bungalows the better the food, the better the people, and huba is at the end of the beach😂

Great place, good people

Located at the very end of the beach, this place has its strenght in the staff working there. Although some staff members are there for a limited time (some of them are volunteers?!) they are all super nice and very professional. The bungalow are very basic, with no patio, small and not very nicely located: our one was in the jungle with no view of the ocean and too close to the shared toilette so you could hear and sell all the unpleasant. Mosquito net was very dirty. Overall we found the accomodation quite pricey for what you get. On Saracen Bay you get that quality of bungalow for 30/35 USD a night, but with private toilette and ocean view.
Drinks and food come with european prices. 5 USD for a cocktail, 1,5 USD for a can of beer (33 cl) and 6/7 euro for an english breakfast which was one of the poorest ever seen. The whole beach applies these prices so be aware. Apart from the breakfast food is avarage and pricey, with the exception of the barracuda burger which was amazing and well worthy the 8 USD.

Super friendly staff

Sadly our experience at Huba Huba was very different to other reviewers.  

Once were shown the room it was clearly not the one we had booked online. The manager was adamant that our booking was for a basic room and refused to accept the booking confirmation and screen shot from Agoda (attached) showing that we had booked a two bed bungalow with a terrace rather than the windowless shed he was trying to fob us off with.  No amount of evidence was enough.  He refused to accept our booking for anything but the shed and refused to accept that the room was listed the room on Agoda.  He refused to honour the booking or even offer any alternative accommodation. We would have paid extra. The property was not full. At this point we are getting more exasperated.  It was clear that the owner was not going to help and was being so negative that there was no point in proceeding any further.  We certainly did not want to stay with that attitude. We asked for our money back.  To our utter consternation he refused a full refund and wanted to deduct commission fees.  We pointed out that he was refusing to honour our booking and there was no way he could not make a full refund.  Things deteriorated at this point. In all my travels I have never been in an argument with hotel staff where raising my voice was necessary as he clearly did not want other guests listening to the argument.  The manager’s pig-headed attitude  that it was our fault that we had booked with Agoda and not his ineptitude that his rooms are incorrectly listed there.  Eventually we left with our cash in full but not without having a very unpleasant experience with the unhelpful, rude and incompetent owner.   His name is Cameron.  Don’t trust him. 

There are some lovely places along the beach including SleepingTrees  where we stayed for 7 nights in the end and had a lovely time.  They could not have been more accommodating. Don’t make the mistake of booking at Huba Huba.  There is no guarantee what you will get.
