Pousada Pouso do So Vigário

Cozy inn with pool and sauna. Only some rooms have air conditioned, which is a must-have in this warm city. It's beautifully decorated with art and antique objects. This street (Nova) doesn't appear on GPS. Don't forget to ask for  the delicious "coxinhas"  while haviam a cold beer by the pool.

When you first walk through the door of Pouso Do So Vigario it almost immediately makes you feel at home. Very well put together and full of sculptures and exhibition posters that in some places make you feel like your in a museum, but here like a home. 

Staff were very nice and the garden/bar area a delight (WiFi too)

Rooms are simple but clean and tidy. My room had an en suite which was very well looked after and a pretty decent size too. A shower no bath.

TV had no English channels (not even a CNN, BBC World etc) but thats just being Picky and to be honest you don't go to Pirenopolis to lie in bed watching the News.

Lovely Little hotel

Great location. Pleasant garden front restaurant

I spent 2 nights at the pousada, which is conveniently located on Rua Nova about 3 minutes walk from the church and 10 minutes from the "road of restaurants". It is an older but well maintained building as is the standard in this city. Guest room had a very high ceiling with ceiling fan, small tv and minibar. Shower was strong with plenty of hot water. Common areas include a "living room" with sofas and a large screen tv, outdoor breakfast/meal area, pool and sauna. Breakfast options were abundant; there was no omelette/tapioca option that I understand is normally present. Internet was very unstable. Bring insect repellent if you are prone to mosquito bites.

Picturesque pousada in Pirenópolis

It’s always a pleasure to return to Sô Vigário. It’s a colonial house strategically located near some of the main attractions, such as the “Matriz” church, the main street, and the handicraft shops. The staff is friendly and helpful, which makes your stay more comfortable. Breakfast is delicious. I particularly enjoy the “pão de queijo” (cheese bread) and some other regional delicacies. I however feel that Sô Vigário is lagging behind other interesting “pousadas” and hotels that have been open in Pirenópolis in recent years, and some revamping would be much welcome.

Colonial House in a charming street

Near to the cathedral and well placed for the centre of town. Nice setting with pleasant gardens, pool and sauna. Room was a typical posada style, basic but comfortable. Our room(20) had A/C. Good breakfast and helpful staff. 
If you come back late at night the front door is locked and it requires some banging on the door to get the night staff to open up!
I would stay here again as I visit Pirenopolis quite often.
