Frevo Praia Hostel

I stayed here during the world cup and had a really great time. The rooms were slightly cramped, but very clean - which was the main thing for me. I only used the bedrooms for sleeping! The staff are incredibly helpful and gave me great advice regarding getting to Olinda, the shopping mall, and booking taxis for me. The hostel has a nice chilled out vibe, with hammocks, WIFI and a laptop to use if needed. It also has a pool but I didn't try this myself. Breakfast is yummy with a mix of fruit, bread, cakes, cereals, cheese and meats. The hostel is fairly close to the Airport metro station, a ten minute walk. I did take a taxi though when I had all my luggage with me, but otherwise walked on other days. The hostel is about a 7 minute walk from Boa Viagem beach. There is a good pizzeria opposite, but not many other restaurants nearby. I did struggle for dinner options a few times, not wanting to walk far in the dark as a lone female. I did discover a supermarket fairly close by, and the hostel as great kitchen facilities, so that's an option. As I stayed in Recife during the World Cup, accommodation options were limited but I was glad to have found this place! It was much much better than the other Recife hostel I stayed in with a leaking roof, outdoor bathrooms, and no English-speaking staff. I would definitely stay here again, but would perhaps check out some better located hostels beforehand.
