Solar Cláudio Manuel Pousada

Found this pousada at the last minute and it turned out to be great. The location is perfect, literally less than a 1-minute walk away from Tiradentes Plaza, in the heart of everything! All of the town was easily accessible and it was awesome to be able to see all the people walking by at night (Ouro Preto surprisingly has quite a good night-life scene!) from the plaza itself. Service was also very good - the guys at the front desk are very nice and helpful - from places to see to buses to take, etc. The breakfast was also very good. On top of this, I got upgraded to a "superior room" with two balconies as they ran out of normal rooms so had an amazing view outside my balconies onto the town and the nearby markets. Only downside is that the sound insulation wasn't very strong so it was hard sometimes to fall asleep with the sounds outside the balconies. Other minor downside is that the pousada doesn't offer a free map - but this can be easily procured elsewhere and the town is small enough that it hardly matters. Overall, would definitely recommend this pousada again - great location and great service.
