What to say....the very arrival in Ouro Preto was magical enough- and then we are welcomed by Luisa at the hostel. Hospitality would be an understatement, as it felt as if Luisa welcomed us as family. The beautifully prepared breakfast made us feel as if we were in a movie, fresh mountain coffee, sweet papaya, breads, yoghurt and granola. The hostel is huge, is would be an incredible option for large groups- especially climbers seeking out the incredible local crags. The impressive graffiti on the terrace creates a beautiful dynamic with the centurion architecture of the old building. As a local, Luisa offers insight into anything that we were interested in, the local tours, climb spots, restaurants and more. To be honest, we were sad to leave and felt our stay was much too short- but promised to return with our parents one day! I would recommend this hostel to anyone- especially large groups.
