Pousada Moinho Velho

A very good hotel, with comfortable rooms,near Main street,( about 1 km from Av. Monte Verde) but it's steep. Take the car to go there. The access is easy even if you are not driving a 4x4 car. That's very important in Monte Verde if you don't have an off road kind of car. Some hotels have difficult access.I stayed at SUITE DO MARQUES 103. Comfortable room, new tv, although it lacks a wider range of channels,very clean, remodeled. Large bathroom though not modern, but super ok ! I'd suggest the hotel to supply a hairdryer ,which there wasn't. Beautiful grounds,,excellent conditions. A large,open pool,really beautiful with a view. It might be a problem to use in the winter., also dry and steam sauna, besides an ofuro . Recreation area ok. Very polite,efficient service. Very good breakfast. Restaurant doesn't serve meals but there are soups, sandwiches, appetizers,drinks etc. The idea of the place is to enjoy a meal in one of the tens of " comida mineira " restaurants. I highly recommend the hotel and plan to go back
