Youth Hostel Ferijalac

I stayed at this hostel 3 nights and I am happy to have selected here. I can say that,

- The main bus terminal is just within 10-15 minute walking distance.
- Reception's help was extraordinary for me to catch a bus from Eastern terminal to Belgrade as my own arrangement didn't show up.
- Money change
- Offered me tea
- Although I had reserved a bed in 6-bed dorm, they upgraded me to a private twin room with en-suite bathroom and TV for the same price.

Would definitely stay here if I come back.

Felt more like a cheap hotel than a hostel, with provided towels, ready-made beds, and a clean ensuit bathroom, all of which were welcome given our delayed arrival at 1.30am. I stayed in a private room for one night, which was warm and quiet. The staff member who checked us in and out was friendly, and the rooms were warm and cosy. We're both used to hostel backpacking accommodation, so Ferijalac was a welcome surprise. Would definitely stay again. 

Only 10 mins on foot from the bus station and 30 mins on foot from the city centre. There’s no hostel atmosphere whatsoever but it’s very cheap and gives you the chance to walk through the new part of Sarajevo too. Reception is open 24/7 and I could check in at 1 am. They don’t provide guests with city maps which is annoying but the WiFi connection in the room is good.
The toilet is clean (I was in an ensuite room), but the room has carpet on the floor which isn’t ideal in a hostel.
I would recommend it anyway.

The hostel is really close to railway bus station, I think its the best location and choice for people who want quiet hostel but in the same time close to the city. You are basically 15 minutes walking to main street of Sarajevo city center. Bascarsija indeed it will take you longer by foot, maybe 25 minutes.
Nevertheless the reception guy is very nice, and professional.
Big up for him.
Bed for one person is ok.
Tho if you are 2 meters tall your legs will hang down.
Bathroom has shower with high pressure. Also you already have a hair drier in the bathroom.
TV has many channels but the quality of picture is poor.
P.s. Wish they add 2 towels in 1 single room. One for face and another for shower.
I recommend this hostel.
I paid 20 euros in season time. So its a good budget deal.
You get what you paid for.

Nice and big hostel, up at the hill, makes you a good sight seeing. Clean rooms, nice staff. I was here for the seconde time. I like is not far far from Carsija, about 20 minutes walk, which is good, u can see Sarajevo. The shops are close..bus station also.



The hostel is close to the bus station and a Konzum Market. A few minutes from the old town, the rooms are clean and the service very good. The personnel is nice and warm. There was free wifi and the customers could use the frigos.

I've got really mixed feelings about this place. The positives are the location, close to the bus station and although it's a bit of a walk from the Old Town that didn't bother us at all. And the REAL positive is the staff - they are just lovely and tried really hard to make our stay comfortable even though they were clearly struggling with a few issues. 

We booked it for 3 nights thinking it was a hostel, mid-way through our long backpacking trip and arrived to find that there was no washing machine or laundry service, which given they're affiliated with Hostelling International and therefore catering to backpackers I just could not believe. I was pretty cross! Our room was quite nice, and large, but it was stiflingly hot and although they gave us a fan to use we barely slept that first night. Also, the toilet AND the showerhead were broken so on the second night they moved us to a twin room which was really pokey and although it was cooler and we could actually sleep, the bed sheets were horrible and didn't fit the bed so you would roll over in the night and find the sheet all twisted and moving around so that you're actually sleeping on bare mattress with no protector - gross. Also they'd 'cleaned' that room in a hurry and a big part of someone's toenail was lying on the bedside table.  There was also only patchy wifi connection in the rooms.

While we were there there was some kind of sewage problem the staff kept having to mop up and overall I got the distinct impression the place was in desperate need of repairs and didn't perhaps have as many guests in as it should. 

Overall if you're wanting a cheap hotel with lovely staff then this place is ok but it's NOT a hostel and shouldn't be advertised as one.
