Guest House Rose

We stayed here for a night and it was perfect. The location is an easy walk to the center of town. The house is great and the hosts could not be more welcoming, right down to serving tea and cake when we arrived.

This place and its owners are great. Guesthouse is really close to the city centre (5 minutes walk) and next to Sarajevo brewery. Rooms are small but clean and comfortable. Owners made us delicious breakfast and excellent bosnian kafa (coffee). They also gave us many useful information of what to see, where to eat or buy souvenirs. We came to Sarajevo by car and it was very important that we could park our car in closed yard. We highly recommend this accomodation.

This place was ideal for our slightly off-mainstream setup - 4 single rooms for 4 people. Excellent value for money, and none of us had any major complaints. The location - close to the Sarajevo brewery, which also does take-out - is very good. Walking down the hill and across the river takes you to the old town in less than ten minutes.

Some of the rugs and carpets almost qualify for the word nasty, and my room only had one electrical outlet (and another one in the toilet). I had to unplug the tv to get air conditioning or power for my electronics. However, these mini-complaints are the only ones I have. The bathroom was clean and the water pressure was excellent. The bed was comfortable, too.

Even though we didn't pay for breakfast, we always got a nice setup of Bosnian coffee and snacks after getting up. And all this on the nice terrace within five minutes of leaving the room, no matter what time we got up. Extremely effective and really friendly service!

We really enjoyed our stay in this old-style family guesthouse. Room was clean and comfortable with en suite bathroom. Stunning view from our balcony over the old city which was an easy five minute walk across the river. Not totally obvious to find so we were happy to be picked up by the owners children. Note that  there are some very steep stairs.

Great stay in Sarajevo

Lovely, family guesthouse. Excellent value.

Great stay with wonderful hosts

Our group (19 people) booked holidays in The Rose Guest House more than one month ago, but the manager canceled our stay 10 days before arrival with no explanation. Because it’s a high season we have big problems with finding anther accommodation for a whole group. We are very disappointed. Not recommended for groups and booking ahead, because you never know, when they will cancel the reservation.
