Dr. Roy went above and beyond every chance he had with us.  We didn’t have a chance to eat lunch before he picked us up at airport so he had staff make us a late lunch. If you are looking for the Hilton, go down town.  If you are looking for a true Belize experience, come here.  Beautiful grounds, home cooked meals, nature / monkey tour right from the grounds.  Rooms are rustic but have everything you need.  We did the nature tour, zipline and cave tubing and everyone of them had excellant guides.  I would recommend staying here a minimum of 2-3 nights to do the mainland tours and then go to the beach resorts for 2-3 nights so get to experience all that Belize has to offer.  I was going to stay downtown for 1 night but I’m so glad that didnt work out.  It is located in a small community where everyone knows everyone and is completely safe.

We enjoyed the hosts, the delicious  homecooked food, the beers, the cute bungalows with porch and hammock to birdwatch from, and of course, the howler monkeys.  The ride to the airport the next day was easy.  There is some road noise in the morning but otherwise it was quiet here too. We were very happy with our choice to come here for our airport stay. 

Wonderful place for our last night in Belize

This is the most convenient lodge in the jungle to BZE. Roy, the owner, is just wonderful and you can tell he cares a lot about the clients who stay there. The cabin was comfy and clean. The hiking/walking was relaxing and there was lots of wildlife, birds, and flowers/plants to explore. I can't wait to go back. I did the morning canoe down the Belize River and the Howler Monkey Sanctuary (which I included photos of in this review)

A great place to relax

For a full jungle and nature experience.  Stay at the nature resort.  Roy and his family will take care of everything. 

No matter what excursions you choose he will set you up with the best guides for the best experience. 

Take the kids or just relax as couples.  It’s the perfect way to experience the jungle in belize! 

Did I say the food was amazing?  It was!  Homemade and authentic!

Great and clean accommodations. Friendly staff and plenty of delicious food. Grounds well groomed by helpful personnel. A wonderful getaway! Unfortunately didn't see monkeys nearby but could hear them. Many tours close by.

We stayed at Nature Resort for two nights and loved it. We had orginally booked a room with a shared bathroom but got upgradet to a cabana for free. The cabana was clean and had a peacefull location from where we could watch the monkeys and the many birds of the area. We also did the river tour with a fantastic guide. We had a wonderfull stay and would highly recomend staying here!

Peacefull stay in the jungel

Stay here if you want a quiet, gorgeous place. The food is delicious, varies, and affordable. The owners are kind. You're also right near a monkey walk. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful place.

We had an amazing couple of nights in Cashew 10. The room was spotless, the beds really comfy and the food was fantastic. If you choose Nature Resort make sure you include breakfast and dinner as there isn’t much else around. 

Dr Roy and his team were great, sorted all our tours at the drop of a hat. Don’t miss the Baboon Sanctuary (the main reason to stay here). We also did Lamanai and Belize Zoo which were great too. 

A really great place, with lovely people. We would stay again in a heartbeat. 

Amazing Stay

I visited The Nature Resort with 2 friends and stayed in the CASHEW room #10. It was an amazing experience. The room is comfortable and clean. The porch with a hammock was so comfortable. There are quiet and well maintained grounds! We saw wildlife each morning (such as an agoudi) and really felt taken care of by Marya, Roy and all the staff!
The resort is on the same property at the Howler Monkey Reserve Museum and just a short walk to the reserve itself. We got a personal tour from ROGER- he was the best! He talks to the monkeys and let them get so close to use for Selfies! It was a DREAM!
The meals at The Nature Resort (Breakfast and Supper) were plenty and UnBelizable! They consisted of typical Belizean cuisine (rice and beans with a meat) and desserts at night! We had plenty of filtered water provided in the community room. The community room provided an adequate Wifi signal for checking in with family and Facebook each evening.
Roy, the owner, provided private transportation to all of the excursions and made sure to get us the best guides for each adventure. Edgar for the Lamanai boat ride and ruin tour, Jose for the Cave River Tubing and super friendly men for the zip lining. Roy, himself, gave us a tour at the Belize Zoo. He allowed us to stop at a grocery store on one of our trips. He encouraged us to talk to local people, such as sugar cane farmers.
Roy knows EVERYONE in the whole area and is very friendly and well-respected.
In the end, we debated about leaving the Nature Resort at all! We wanted to stay longer! But Roy transported us to the Water Taxi in Belize City, so we could continue our awesome vacation.

MOST AMAZING VACATION

We had a pleasure to stay at Nature Resort and meet Dr. Roy Young who was our host, driver and tour guide. We loved our stay at his Mahogany cabana. It was amazing experience to wake up to howler monkeys since the resort is next to Baboon sanctuary. Upon our arrival we chose to do a day trip via boat to Lamanai ruins. Our guide Carlos was very knowledgeable; on the way there we were able to spot many birds, bats, plants and even a baby alligator. Dr. Young helped us also arrange cave tubbing and took us to the Zoo- Must make time to see it!!! We walked to the Baboon Sanctuary to learn more about howler monkeys and met them in person. On the last day on the way to the water taxi we got to see Belize City. The food was amazing; we dined in every day for breakfasts and dinners. You can also purchase alcoholic beverages at the location. My favorite part of the stay were the horses at the range. I also greatly enjoyed the family and community vibe at the Nature Resort. Everyone was kind, generous and connected. A must stay! Plus they accept credit card.
