Auberge Des Pérées

We have visited the Auberge des Pérees on a regular basis over the last 20 years and are always happy to return. The rooms are pretty basic and perhaps a little bit overpriced, but it is a lovely rural auberge with a cosy atmosphere and good food in an area with plenty of great walking and cycling routes. The owner and chef is a good cook, but perhaps a little bit overambitious, and the quite imaginative dishes which he produces are sometimes too complex, with too many heterogeneous ingredients, and he would probably benefit from a bit more simplicity in his cuisine. Nevertheless, the menu at 67 Euros including wine is good value, and we will no doubt continue to come back once a year to enjoy the auberge, its cuisine and its surroundings.
