Heghnar Hotel Stepanakert

I stayed at the Heghnar as part of a three day Hyur tour to the region.  It's comfortable and perfectly adequate.  There is no elevator, so if you're on the third floor as I was, you do need to be able to haul your luggage.  The stairs are quite broad and easy, though.  

It's a bit of a walk into "center city" Stepanakert, but again, reasonably easy.

I'd recommend it for its usefulness.  The food is okay, not outstanding.  (Well, the herb lavash was outstanding for dinner!)  All in all, a fine stay.

Pleasant and comfortable

This hotel was reserved by our tour company, there aren't that many options in the area from our own research, so for one night it was ok, but it's very old and it didn't feel completely clean. It was dusty. The room was very large and nice because of the wood ceilings and walls, but since it lacks maintenance, has carpets, and even the seat coverings are old it didn't look clean.
Breakfast was very simple: bread, salty cheese, honey, and boiled egg. So don't expect much, but if you don't have a better option just bear with it because visiting the area is worth it.

Ok for one night, but barely

It is a hotel Armenia tour agencies would take you there. The room and bathroom are big with minimum toiletries. The breakfast was served individually without free choice. The location seems in the outskirt of the capital.

The rooms were clean but a bit outdated. 
A/C and WiFi are available for their guests. It included a simple breakfast of boiled egg, cheese, honey and yogurt. The tea was good. 
It's about 15 minute walk from the main strip in Stepanagerd. Eventough it's in the quiet area of the town, it's safe. 
I was in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabagh) fro one night. It served its purpose. 
Trip Advisor should fix the location of this hotel since it's in Artsakh and not in Azerbaijan.

Comfortable lodging in Artsakh (NOT Azerbaijan)

We stayed at the Heghnar Hotel in Stepanakert for 2 nights with a group from Hyur tours. This was a 3-day tour to Karabakh (not Azerbaijan!). By the way, the Armenians call the provence by its historic Armenian name: Artsakh.  The hotel was comprised of three buildings and was very clean and offered amenities like air-conditioning and free WiFi in the lobby.  It had a beautiful garden in the back.  It was a very cheap tour which included all meals, tours, transportation, and hotel. The decor of the room was outdated and breakfast was mainly yogurt, bread, and boiled eggs. The Heghnar was not centrally located. Next time, I will try the other, slightly more expensive, hotel choice which was in the center of the city.

Clean But Outdated Decor

Old mattress with coils protruding. Pillows like sand bags. Hard. Couldn’t sleep at all. Staff have attitude and not friendly at all. Outdated rooms and bathroom condition poor. Breakfast poor compared to other places in the region.
