193 reviewsThis is a truly exceptional hotel-old world charm with excellent service and all the modern facilities you could wish for. From the moment you step inside you realise you have booked somewhere special. Our room had been recently refurbished (the wood still smelt fresh!) and was excellent in every way. It was clear we had the best room in the hotel (room 401); very spacious, spotlessly clean with huge balcony and breathtaking views over St Gilgen and across Lake Wolfgang. Just perfect! Our daughter had a deluxe room along the corridor, which was another lovely room with balcony. We were very fortunate that the rooftop pool had been completed just before our arrival and is just stunning with unrivalled views across the lake. The buffet breakfasts (In the beautiful conservatory –fresh flowers and tasteful decor so carefully thought through) were outstanding with much choice and further options freshly cooked to order. We dined in the restaurant most evenings as the food was first class and the dining room itself is an experience in understated elegance. The service in this hotel is professional, friendly and effortless. It is family run hotel and three generations of the family are visibly present and welcoming, to the extent that on one occasion when they saw my husband and me by the rooftop pool they invited us over for drinks and made us most welcome. They also invited our daughter to use the piano in the dining room should she wish to follow in Mozart's footsteps!Thank you to Katharina and Norbert and we can't wait to return!
