Pension Strolz

After spending five hours stuck in traffic on Fernpass we made it to Lermoos, where the firemen told us we would not make it any further up the road to Bichelbach. We emailed pension Strolz, who were kind enough to understand our situation, and kindly replied 'we will see you tomorrow night'. The next day the roads were cleared, and we made it to Pension Strolz, a nice chalet in the center of town, updated and modern inside and out. The apartment was great, clean and updated with a great view down the valley to the Zugspitze, and was warm and cozy as we watched the snow continue to fall that evening. Our two room apartment was plenty for our small family, but downstairs is a larger communal kitchen and dining area for larger groups. Ski storage in the back was more than adequate, with plenty of room and gear racks for drying any wet clothing. In the morning I found that Simon had already shoveled the overnight snow from around our car! I am constantly amazed at the hospitality in northern Austria, and our stay here was no exception. Pension Strolz is a perfect place for groups or families, with a quiet setting, a great pizzeria in walking distance, and a sporting store next door. Grocery store will require a smalldrive. The rooms are clean, comfortable, quiet and well appointed. Because the blizzard prevented the first part of our stay my wife and I felt we did not get enough time to truly enjoy our cozy apartment. Stay here the next time you are in Bichelbach, hopefully you miss the blizzard and get to stay for more than one night.
