Hotel Bellevue

The Hotel Bellevue sits nestled at the foot of the Kleinwalsertal, a small portion of Austria accessible only from Germany. It is a collection of villages that cater to skiers and hikers. When we were there in September, the are was frequented almost exclusively by German speaking tourists, which made for a nice, authentic feeling holiday complete with lots of great German/Austrian Gasthof food and drink. The Hotel Bellevue is just outside of the small town of Riezlern, which means that you have fantastic Alpine views of the hotel, but also need to take the bus or car to get anything in town. Luckily, a very efficient and frequent bus service stops right outside the hotel. For hikers, the hikes are everywhere, starting from outside of the door of the hotel. There is plenty to explore in the Valley. Our stay was a pleasant experience. The hotel is reasonably priced and the meals, which are included in our price ok and dependable. Nice touch, wine and beer included with the meal. The rooms are efficient, but this is Europe so you need to bring your own soap/shampoo. Electricity is controlled by the room card, and internet access is 2 euros per hour, and for some unexplainable reason is not available between midnight and 8am.
