we had great stay, the area is lovely, between seasons Hinterstroder is a sleepy village with excellent hiking trails, hotel staff is really friendly, everyone trying to help, especially with our limited German language skills, the room in new part was big with nice balcony and beautiful morning view, swimming pool not big but of decent size and very clean, spa with all sorts of treatments, we were really spoilt for choice, food was great with buffet breakfast and 5 course dinner, surprisingly you can borrow backpacks, water bottles and walking sticks for hiking, we really enjoyed our stay. 2 small things make it short of 5 star -no english translation in the hotel and no ice machine at the pool so the drinks left there in good choice were getting quite warm
