Der Schlosswirt zu Anif - Biedermeier-Hotel und Restaurant

Our stay at the beautiful 16th century Der Schlosswirt zu Anif was lovely. The staff were all friendly and welcoming, with a special mention to Kahlil (apologies for incorrect spelling of your name) who was very helpful on our arrival and during our stay. Being such an old historic building, with solid old oak floors all over, it creeks and cracks when you walk across your room which in the day is charming but at night you will wake your sleeping partner. That aside, the place is true to its age and history and as it should be. The bed was huge and extremely comfortable along with the big fluffy pillows.We used the sauna which was lovely and then braved the outdoor pool which was chilly initially but once in and swimming the chill wore off. We had dinner in the restaurant, the food was delicious and exquisitely presented. With local wine suggestions from Kahlil that complemented our meal. Equally breakfast in the morning was good with plenty of options for continental or a menu for cooked dishes as well. We would recommend for a nostalgic experience, be aware that there are many taxidermy animals around the building, which didn’t bother us.
