Gebetsroither - Schluga Camping Hermagor

We have been at the Schluga Camping of Hermagor for a few days in August and we have discovered a very nice facility with everything needed by families with small kids. I would reccomend it for families with kids until 10-11 years old, teenagers would find the place a little boring, but adults can exploit the pictoresque position and the sorrounding attractions for a very relaxing vacation. There are 2 separate campings 4 km far from each other (guests can freely access both campings by using the ID tag are given at check in). The one close to the city of Hermagor is open 12 months a year, the second one close to a small mountain lake is open only in summer. The touristic attractions are enough to make you spend a week doing different things every single day: trekking in the alps, biking in the numerous bycicle paths, visiting nice small villages, swimming in the lake or the heated swimming pool (one indoor in the first camping, outdoor in the second one). Kids have several playgrounds scattered all over the campings and there are specific facilities for pets. I didn't give 5 stars because of the limited offering of restaurants, the small mini-market, which has just a few products available and the small, rather crouded swimming pool. To go shopping for food you need to go to Hermagor (10 minutes drive). Pitches are very big and they can accomodate large motorhomes with a couple of tents. Pitches have electric power of 5 KW, enough for any kind of need. Teh staff is kind and helpful and they speak at least 4 languages: German (of course), English, Italian and Dutch. It was a nice experience that we'll probably repeat in the future.
