179 reviewsThis is my fifth stay at the Bergwald. Katharina and her family do such a wonderful job. The place really just is authentic. You're not just another number here, rather they take care of you as if you were a guest in their home. I always call this place, "my home away from home". I know I am not the only one because many of the guests that you talk with, are like myself: repeat customers. I have probably eaten at every restaurant in Alpbach over the years, but my favorite place there lately is to just cook a simple meal myself in the apartment and prepare for the wonderful sunset or sunrise. It is like something out of a story book—so warm; so inspiring. It is next to impossible to take a bad photo there. If you're looking for a cookie-cutter room identical to every other hotel, The Bergwald is not for you. Each room I’ve stayed in has been unique, with its own name and distinct motif. I cannot wait until my next stay!
