Cedar Park Rainforest Resort

We are Cairns locals and needed to get away for a couple of days and unwind. As Cedar Park Rainforest Resort was only an 1.5 hour at most drive away from our home, we decided to go here and it didn't disappoint. Peter, the owner and manager, was fantastic with communication from the time of booking. Any inquiries I had were answered promptly. Check in was so easy and we felt at home from the start. Our room was amazing, and spotless. There is no TV which was another factor in choosing to stay here, who needs TV when you want to relax and unwind :). The free breakfast provided was more than ample, and the free pizza we ate that night for dinner was so yummy. There is a beautiful deck overlooking the forest and gardens, where you can eat your meals that you provide ( or after sampling the free pizza, buy some more :) ), or just sit and listen to the sounds of the creek and birds over a glass of wine. There are board games to play with the family, which we loved. A ping pong table which provided much needed family time and laughs. We spent alot of time walking the gardens, the creeks and the orchard, where you may see wallabies, curlews and beautiful birds. Our daughter is a teen and defiantly wasnt bored, there is fast internet so she could check in with her friends on face book, but most of her time was spent with us exploring and loving nature. Also, Peter has his children there on site from time to time and they are the most polite children, our daughter spent alot of time with his 10 year old daughter who was alot of fun to hang out with. The kids are keen to say hi and have a chat, but if you want alone time they are happy to go off do their own thing and leave you be. I could go on and on on just how glorious this resort it, we loved it so much we are planning on making it a 3 monthly event to stay there for a weekend, its very very affordable. Cheaper than a "fancy" hotel and far more relaxing than anyway we have stayed before. Many many thanks Peter and kids for making our stay so awesome, will see you again soon :)
