Excellent stay with everything as described. The beer and food served in the pub was fantastic.

Great place to stay in the city. Right next to Wynyard Station

Very comfortable, I had no issue with the facility. Pub style room, made me feel close to home.

This magnificent 175 year iold grand lady was a delightful place to stay in. Location was superb. Transport at the door to cbd, airport, Central everywhere. Outstanding value for money in Sydney. Helpful friendly staff and very vlean bathrooms. A range of Dining options very nearby including at The occidental. We loved the grace of this beautiful heritage building.

Was good for price and dropped bags off before checkin was very convenient thanks we were going on cruise so was easy to  get to cruise terminal recomend hotel

Good hotel for the price, it is in an amazing location near everything, however it can get a bit noisy sometimes.

Close to Wynyard station, and pretty central. It was a bit odd to check-in, I wasn’t sure where to go and had to wait a bit for the manager, but no issues with customer service. The facilities are decent and overall clean. The toilet and showers are separate. I would have preferred to have an internal lock in addition to the key lock, but that’s more a preference.I would stay again, definitely a good budget option.

Room was on 4th floor and there was traffic noise, mainly sirens, which was to be expected given city centre location.We had a private bathroom which made it.all the more convenient.  Hot water took a long time to come through but this was shown.on signs so you were.aware.on arrival.Would stay again.  Less than a block to Wynyard Station.

The location is very good, there is an elevator. There is no check-in counter and you need to find a bartender.The toilet always smells bad, the bathroom tends to accumulate water, the bus stop outside the room is very noisy at dawn, the windows are not soundproof, and the curtains that do not block out the light will wake you up.

Lots of interruptions, always getting up early

This hotel room was very impressive for an economy room. Had good air conditioner, microwave, fridge, tv, window with greenery outside, tea and coffee with jug, very clean, confortable bed. Shared bathroom facilities good and safe. Also a lift. Close to Martin Place and Wynyard so excellent location. Staff pleasant and helpful. You are given a room key and a key to get into hotel after hours. Am happy to stay again.

Stayed for one night on Sunday because of a live show on Sunday night and I had to work on Monday. The Occidental Hotel is very close to where I work. Booked and stayed there for the first time. Pub and Restaurant was closed therefore no noises, it was nice and quiet. The room was a bit small but for only a night, and considering the price, no complains. Microwave in the room was a nice addition to the minimalist room. If I have to stay in the city, I would love to come back. However, the Occidental Hotel constantly booked out, now I understand why :)

This hotel has shared facilities which was noted at the outset. The facilities were clean and appeared to have been recengly renovated. TV in the rooms is hitcand miss often losing reception. This maybe due to hight buildings around the hotel and the aerial was rabbit ears.The big negative was the taste of thecwater .it tadted vile. Most likely to the age of the pipes. If staying bring bottled water.Would I stay there again? Most definitely. It is cheap and quality exceeds price charged

We used the accommodation as part of participating in the Sydney Marathon. The rooms were basic, but clean. It is an old building and the rooms are located on the 3rd and 4rd floors of a very busy pub. If you are noise intolerant this is not the place for you. There is a function room on the 2nd floor that hosted functions during our stay. We were on the third floor. The windows in the rooms were not soundproof. Pub crawlers became noisier as the evenings progressed.On the plus side, you are close to all public transport and  restaurants. You are also walking distance from all the main tourist attractions. The staff were helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and attended to on a daily basis.If you are looking for affordable accommodation but don't mind the business of the city and noise of the pub we can recommend this accommodation.

Central and affordable

You get what you paid for. A very nice location that is close to everything. Being above a bar and a main road there are is noise, which is expected and beyond the the accommodation's control. My only annoyance is the person next door was a bit noisy and the lift was a bit loud beinf next to my room. Still slept well and felt safe.
