75 reviewsMy wife and I travelled up for a two night stay on late notice. This was one of the few places left with rooms other than the big resorts (Fairmont, Echoes, Lilianfels) and we didn't want impersonal service. This proved to be an unexpected delight as a result. We have driven past it many a time, and I'd often wondered what it was like instead. The answer - comfy, cosy, like staying in a true period piece while also maintaining a high level of comfort. Well-decorated common areas are available for use, the room was spacious and the ensuite was a little dated but functional. The staff were only to happy to help and chat (we were the only residents on our first night, so that probably didn't hurt), and the breakfast, etc, was a nice spot to stop and eat overlooking the gardens. We didn't head out into them because the bountiful rain left us staying indoors most of the time.
