I'd like to thank Jacob our guide for a great trip today he worked very hard to put us on the fish but unfortunately we were pestered by small Barra but good fun all the same,Also a thankyou to Jan for very professional approach to our needs Will not hesitate to recommend this company

While in Darwin I had the pleasure of fishing for Barramundi in the rivers off Dundee and the Mary River at Corroboree.  The guide Allan Beale gave me unforgettable days out and for someone that had never really gone fishing before it was a crash course in how to hunt for Barramundi.  I managed to catch a couple and that was a great thrill.
The guide Allan is one of those unique authentic territorians .  He has lived life large and has a lot of stories.  Lives in the moment venting frustration but full of patience attentiveness and professionalism to care for every need.  
He feeds the eagles has no fear of lurking crocodiles while washing lunch trays and knows the waterways and barra hiding holes like the back of his hand.  The crocs the bird life and the fish.  It is an unforgettable experience.  
I also stayed at the B and B which was very clean and comfortable and made the early starts easy.

Unforgettable Day Out

My best mates previously went up in 2017  with the same mob which was previously owned by Allan Beale and wouldn't stop talking about how awesome their trip was. As this was my first Top End trip I was expecting a very similar experience and after my very good mates had hounded me for years to get up to give barra fishing a crack, I have been left with a very bad taste in my mouth :-(  Allan has since sold off this part of the business and it has obviously gone to @#$%^! 
For the amount of money that was paid (up front) I couldn't believe the service we received. Our Guide Braedon, was ill prepared, unprofessional and expected the paying customers to do most of the work to keep things running. Filling fuel and conducting general maintenance on the boat is not our responsibility!! The boat kept breaking down, our guide kept falling asleep, we hardly got among the good fish. The food was terrible and mostly up to us as customers to arrange! I mean WTF? 
I WILL NEVER BOOK WITH THESE GUYS AGAIN! SO DISSAPOINTED


Don't waste your hard earned money

having previously had a successful fishing safari with DBB, we thought that we would go with them again, What a MISTAKE.
Breakfast was non existent, with the exception of some fruit. you would think that starting the day would be your biggest meal {fruit just doesn't cut it) Lunch on most days, was fruit again or a tin of baked beans or similar. One day we were lucky (sic) enough to get a wrap made with Spam or bully beef (out of tins), I mean WTF.
Our boat constantly broke down & we missed at least a day & a half's fishing. Boat was poorly maintained & ill prepared. Guide was a nice enough bloke, however we don't believe that he was as focused enough on the job as he should have been. Will not be using or recommending them again. Did email them prior to this, to give them right of reply, however we have had no response. Very disappointing trip

Barra fishing Safari

We booked the ground floor "Lodge room" but on arrival were shown upstairs by the owners daughters a dark, cramped room overlooking a very tired pool.

"This room has been designed and built on the ground floor in order to accommodate the more physically challenged persons to assist in their mobility needs, access and egress."

Owners nowhere to be seen. My wife has knee problems which is why we booked this room on AirBnb.

Then, on closer inspection the pool was, frankly filthy with innumerable floaters below the surface. The creepy crawly was disconnected and a broken chair completed the scene.

We decided to leave, having been there less than an hour. Then the owner, Allan arrives and tries to tell us we had the Deluxe room and that the pool was just fine! No apology, just Allan rushing upstairs to see "what kind of mess we had left". None of course.

Just google Allan Beale to see the type of host you are dealing with.

Avoid.
