We have stayed at Damitgetaway several times over the years, in both The Homestead and also in The Cabin, always a delightful experience.  We enjoyed a few nights stay early this month in The Homestead and appreciated the beautiful renovations & upgrades since our last visit.
Bev is always so helpful and accommodating.
One of our favourite places to keep coming back to!!

From when we first booked, then received personal & detailed instructions for our visit, it just felt right. Owner Bev was moving animals when we arrived & greeted us with a no fuss welcome. We’d arrived! The three bedroom house was at the end of the gently sloping driveway. Well kept gardens led us into the. House and a huge living area, with an open plan kitchen, lounge area & direct access to the veranda. The already heated spa sat at one end with 270 degree views over the valley down to the river. The place was immaculately clean, towels laid out on the beds, and Bev’s detailed instructions on everything from the wifi to the coffee machine spot on. So comfortable for a weekend retreat & either a walk or drive up to Kia Ora lookout for expansive views a good activity. Literally fifteen minutes from Gloucester, a thoroughly enjoyable family weekend. The giant house cows delighted the kids, as did the spa.

Spacious and clean house that is perfect base for our family to explore Barrington. Beautiful view from the house. Well kept garden. My kids enjoyed patting the neighbouring horses.

Such a relaxing place to be taking in the breath taking views. Relaxed check in & out, free wifi and good tv reception. Close to Gloucester & pet friendly. 
The cabin was clean with plenty of stuff in the cupboard including a dishwasher so no need to wash up!
Perfect place to get away from it all.

We loved everything about this beautiful homestead from the road leading up to the property to the friendly owners and animals, the breathtaking relaxing views surrounding the home and the spacious home itself with everything we needed right there. It will forever be a great memory for our family and hopefully somewhere we’ll venture back to. Thank you once again for a wonderful weekend.

This establishment had it all. Wonderful views where you can see forever. Everything you could want in the way of cooking and utensils. A great comfortable bed. Great hosts and great wildlife. We saw the biggest cow (800Kg +) Hughie, Plenty of cows with calves. definitely worth the trip. A little bit hard to find but the instructions given were very explicit and easy to follow

Three magnificent nights and days at Dam It Getaway and the local area. 
Bev and Katrina were helpful yet let us run around doing what we wanted. 
The 'staff', Dash, King and Kira were always smiling and cheerful.  The new assistants, Spitfire and Bronson are beautiful.
74 acres to wander and relax.
Can't wait to go back in July for winters nights around the fires.

If you want to relax, this is the place to stay. Peaceful, wonderful views and fresh air. You can do lots or as we did, not much at all. The ladies were very welcoming and nothing was a problem.The dogs were an added bonus.

a nicely decorated house on top of a hill with 360 degree view. I enjoy reading my book in bed & looking at the views. the house was air conditioned & also had a fire place. The place made you feel so relaxed. great bush walking tacks. & Gloucester is a lovely town. They welcome your fur babies & big enough for big or small family or just the 2 of you

Dam It Getaway is located in beautiful country side on the top of hill. Morning views from our cabin were just amazing. I couldn't stop looking. Big plus for us was that cabin was pet friendly so we could bring our furry friend. Cabin had it's own covered car spot, was air conditioned and had a small kitchen to prepare a quick meal. Location is great for hiking tours or visiting local cafes in Gloucester.

Great weekend away in Gloucester.

What a deightful place

Very helpful and tranquil property, pets were made welcome, ease of access to the major roads, walking, running, pool great, spa bath excellent, if you want to get away from all the gadgets and noise but close enough to town, plenty of room for your friends, clean, spacious,great little cubby room for young child. everything supplied in kitchen and laundry,every room has a air conditioner and fire place as well,  Only bad was, grass needed another cutting (for wet mornings) very fertile land!, spa in bath and remote for TV not working during our stay. Very minor things that we could live without.This could easily be a five star stay for anyone coming from out of town. Friendly Pets, great scenery, we will recommend this to our friends and will be back.

Peaceful and relaxing.
You can sit and just look at the views all day.
My husband booked this get away for me for a Christmas gift.
It lived up to all he told me about it.
They only thing I would say it 2 nights isn’t enough.
We will be back for a week or more. Then we can on day trips. To explore the hiking tracks and river activities.
