Host Georg met us on our arrival at Karawatha Cottages. Our cottage was immaculate inside and out. The decor was bery tasteful and there were lots of little touches that elevated it above the norm. The fridge was filled with milk  water, tomatoes, yoghurt, eggs  bacon, butter and jam. Fresh bread, granola, fruit, chocolate and a bottle of local wine was also provided.

We had a wonderful 3 night break in 'Unwind' at the end of May. 
The cottage is absolutely gorgeous, immaculately clean and everything is provided to ensure you have a very comfortable stay. The breakfast hamper was extremely generous and delicious. Contact before and during our stay was great. Georg checked in with us to ensure we had everything we needed and restocked our firewood every day for the chilly evenings. The cottage has lovely views and is very private. It is easily walkable to many wineries in the area and we took advantage of the recommended walking route provided. It is also very close for a car trip to the coast and the wonderful beaches. We wished that we could stay longer. If we lived in the area we would certainly be regular visitors, but in the meantime we have no hesitation in recommending this beautiful accommodation.

We stayed for 3 days & toured the area & wineries both by car & on foot. Lovely beaches a short drive away & it is close enough to the city to get to the airport without any issues.

Karawatha Cottages are a slice of paradise which we hope to revisit!

Georg and Friederike are fabulous hosts who provide a cozy retreat, an abundance of delicious goodies and great advice on what to see and do that also supports local.    

What makes the cottages truly spectacular is their position on a hill looking towards the ever changing landscape of the Adelaide Hills as the light captures their beauty.  

Our stay was a treat that left us refreshed and relaxed and wanting more.

A beautiful quiet setting with uplifting views over the vineyards and all the space and amenity you could possibly want. We appreciated the attention given to every detail in the cottage from the cosy gas fire to coffee pod machine and big fluffy towels. The excellent information provided about local walks, bike rides and places to go was especially good. Georg also gave some great in-person tips.

Enjoyed a wonderful 3 nights at Karawatha Cottages (we stayed in Ponder).  Cottage is beautiful and we loved the peaceful surroundings (brekkie supplies were yummy which we enjoyed out on the deck).  Appreciated the walking trail suggestions and our fav vineyards were:  Geedes and DogRidge, and we also enjoyed an amazing lunch at The Currant Shed (all of which are within walking distance).  Had a lovely chat with Georg on arrival and he was very welcoming.  Thanks again for a great stay … and we look forward to a return visit.

We had a wonderful 10 day stay in the Relish Cottage. Perfectly equipped, spotless cleanliness, great beds and decorated with love and creativity to every little detail. You will not miss a thing! Loved it!

Not even 45 minutes away from Adelaide.
We were amazed about how much there is to discover and enjoy in the direct surroundings. 

Fantastic walks (hand selected and carefully mapped out by the hosts) through the national park or along wineries and restaurants. 
Wonderful wine tastings.
Beautiful beaches.
Great restaurants. 
Don't forget watching out for kangaroos and koalas..

My wife & I had a wonderful 2 nights in the "Unwind " cottage to celebrate our 30 years of marriage , and every detail was covered by the owners. High attention to detail and immaculate finishing was evident throughout the entire property . Stunning views, top quality wineries and restaurants , some within walking distance , make this an ideal spot to scour the Vale region. Dont hesitate, spend the money , its worth it !

What a beautiful space you have created. We loved staying here, listening to the birds, walk to vineyards and also close to the beaches. Oh a the homemade  granola was delish.....!

A special shout out to Graham at Graham Stevens wines - what a character, fantastic wines  & we had a great tasting session with him!!

Wonderful!!

We enjoyed our 3 night stay in 'Ponder'. A beautiful and very comfortable cottage in a peaceful setting with friendly, warm welcome from Georg. Cottage had everything we needed, it was clean, there was quality linen, good glassware and crockery, delicious and generous breakfast supplies. Also, Georg helpfully explained local walks and gave us excellent directions. Breakfast or bubbles on our deck was delightful. We wished we had booked for a week and would love to return. It’s a great location with some quality restaurants and wineries within walking distance as well as a Tap House for a beer. The property is also gorgeous and very well maintained. The passion of the owners for their visitors comes through with genuine hospitality and nothing is too much trouble.

Peaceful, clean, comfortable

Fabulous experience amongst the vines.  The cottage was well appointed, comfortable and superbly presented.  The hosts were very hospitable checking in on us regularly making sure we had umbrellas, directions and supplies.  The food and wine walk was a great experience and well worth the effort despite the weather!  Thanks, we'll be back!!
