Pupy' s Hostel

Comfortable. Wide. Clean. Accessible to the city center. Friendliness. Available only for two vehicles, it's the only downside. The atmosphere is familiarly decorated. The stairs are comfortable and the spaces spacious.

Familiar

It has a great location, its staff is friendly and its areas invite you to relax, entertain and enjoy the moment. It contains a flower-rodeo patio and a nice kitten that keeps you company while you enjoy some good mates. Excellent music, I remember that sounded INCUBUS... Ademas has a gaming and music sector (a showcase full of music CDs from passing musicians). It also has a piano, Peruvian cajon and a criolla guitar. The rooms are comfortable and the desayuno accordion.

What an excellent environment!

At first this hostel appeared quaint, quirky with friendly staff; however, unfortunately, the friendliness of some staff cannot bring up the rating.

Most of the people staying here are long-term residents as opposed to other travelers, making you feel like an unwelcome guest in their "home". The long-term guests or staff are so many that there is never an opportunity to a) hang out with other travelers or b) hangout anywhere in the hostel because they all swarm in every room possible - making it a very uncomfortable environment for visitors who are trying to relax in the evening. These "residents" also lack respect for people trying to sleep, singing loudly, shouting and slamming doors in the corridors waking us up several times throughout the night/morning.

The breakfast is awful, stale croissants and sugary cereal - a fruit bowl wouldn't go amiss. 

There is one bathroom (we were shown) the shower was cold every time, it was a dirty bathroom and the toilet didn't flush resulting in having to put your hand in the water tank to manually flush it (disgusting). No towels provided. 

The room was very hot which meant the doors outside needed to be open to allow air circulation. As the road is right outside this caused noise pollution to fill the room. On the second night of our stay our room was full, with one guest arriving at 2am and waking us. This guest and another in the room then proceeded to snore excessively resulting in me lying awake for three hours. Eventually I got up and told the staff on the front desk I couldn't sleep because of this, albeit there was a free room next door to ours I had to resort to sleeping on the most uncomfortable chair in the world in the "common room". Once again being recurring awoken by the noisy staff. 

It's a shame to leave a bad review because I feel like the place has potential, or maybe it once was great but now I would definitely not recommend staying here. 


Diabolical

This is pretty standard hostel with friendly staff, decent location but needs more bathrooms.

Staff: very helpful and main guy spoke good English

Location : great, quiet road about ten minutes to main square and 5 minutes to a supermarket. Bus station is about 3km away and costs around 70 pesos in a taxi. I believe there are local buses which stop just round the corner. 

Hostel : nice decor, good communal area with guitar and a piano. OK kitchen. Back garden too.
There are only 2 bathrooms for the hostel (each one includes shower and toilet) so in the mornings there will be a wait.

Room: we had a double room (I don't think there are any en suites) which was ok but very small. The bed and pillow were also very uncomfortable. There are no towels provided. 

Breakfast : included but not great. Tea, coffee, some basic cereal and some pastries which weren't the best.

All in all, an ok place for a couple of days but much longer you may be longing for a comfier night's sleep and not having to wait to go to the bathroom in the morning! 

Good and bad

We were accommodated for work issues for a week, treated wonderfully from the night we arrived until the last day, we used a room shared with other guests at a very good price, in a central area near the pedestrian and shopping, just 10 minutes from walking places like the funes potrero, etc. You can also choose private rooms with a bathroom for exclusive use, we when choosing the shared bathroom alternative have no hygiene issues or things like permanent cleaning in the shared kitchen, living room and patio sector.

Super recommended cost/service ratio and human quality.

It's a nice hostel, clean and well-placed, nice decoration, the manager is really nice, unfortunately the beds are all sunk, so we sleep slanted... hello back pain in the morning, the hostel has a parking lot for 80p.

Nice hostel, but no top beds.

I made a reservation by booking in advance at this hostel, and notified via Facebook that I could arrive late, because I was going to play a bar, I was told that there was no drama by check-in time. When I arrived at dawn after the recital there was no more room, speculation that I would not arrive and they occupied my bed. Additionally, there was no administration waiting, and the man who was making the security couldn't give me a solution, nor an explanation. I had to find accommodation at dawn, having booked the bed a week in advance.

I made a reservation and I wasn't kept in bed.

The house is beautiful, a beautiful garden and a very warm attention.The breakfast is rich and the location in relation to the center is good, you can walk anywhere.They always solved what we needed, highly recommended!

Beautiful place, very warm!

Well I arrived on the Monday and remember asking the guy on reception if they accepted cards as I was short on cash. He said that they didn't, so I paid for 1 night in cash. I ended up staying 5 nights. I was then without money on the Tuesday morning, so I checked if it would be ok to pay later. On the Thursday evening, I paid the girl on reception for a further 3 nights, which included the Thursday night as far as I was concerned. The receptionist from the Monday morning later asked me if I was staying and I said yes and that I'd paid. Before leaving on the Saturday, the girl then asked me to pay for 2 nights instead of the 1 night which I owed. The guy had obviously just pocketed the money on the Monday morning, otherwise their accounts would be correct. What a disgraceful way to treat guests and to do business!

They asked me to pay twice!

The suggestions gave this hostel a high rate but it doesn't worth. The bed and the place weren't clean, smells so strong that you can't even breath. I thing it is mostly where people live for a long period. Also, they don't let you use your credit or debit card, it's only cash.
