It is like your grandpa/grandma's place. Old and dated but charming. And in that sense, it pretty much sums up what Buenos Aires is all about. A city that lives with the memory of its golden past. My wife and I stayed 3 days in their Alfonsina suite and extended our stay after visit to Iguazu falls for another 3 days in Gardel suite. We liked Gardel suite more for its character even though Alfonsina had hotter water for shower. Both suites were bit noisy since they face the street. On the other hand, I doubt any hostel in the city proper can be quite in Buenos Aires. The biggest plus is location: It is located in recoleta: very nice and safe neighborhood, 2 blocks away from Metro and less than block away from super market which we used almost everyday for various needs. The staff was very helpful and spoke better english than majority of local people we met in Buenos Aires. Highly recommended for people who like extremely simple and basic yet charming place in great location at bargain price.
