Great location!Paul and  Fiona are great hosts and they make you feel at home. The facilities and decor are five ⭐️ breakfast is exceptional, An enjoyable stay.🙂

On arrival we  asked for early check in which was granted very friendly people the hotel rooms are emaculate. And have everything you can think of Breakfast beautiful and again the selection amazing Stayed in York many times have to say this is the best hotel and will definitely be returning. Also parking included

PERFECT.  This property is just lovely and it is an easy walk to the Walls and the city within.   Paul & Fiona are the nicest people and perfect hosts.  Our room was excellent, our bed was comfy, everything within our room and the whole building was spotless.  Couldn't fault it.  Paul's cooking skills are second to none.  The daily breakfast outshone anything we had during our 30 day UK adventure.  Fiona was super helpful with travel tips. Parking was easy.  Can't fault this property.   We would definitely stay there again (and my husband isn't a fan of B&B style accommodation).

Everything was perfect, from the hosts, to the room, and location. Lovely little garden, spacious room and nice bathroom, all very clean. Breakfast was delicious and cooked to perfection. I will definitely come back!

A warm welcome and efficient parking. Introduction to the hotel was in depth and covered everything you need to know. Room was beautiful and spotlessly clean. Bed was comfortable.

We chose this hotel on the basis of excellent earlier reviews and were very pleased that we did.  The hotel is well located, about 15 minutes walk from the Minster, the rooms (and beds) are large and extremely comfortable, the staff and proprietors were friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were the best that we've ever had.  Highly recommended!

Paul and Fiona are wonderful hosts.  The rooms are very comfortable (I've stayed in the triple rooms) and are set up with everything you need.The location is a short walk from the city walls and is very convenient to walk to all sites you want to see in the city.The breakfasts are excellent and varied to suit all tastes.  You just have to select your breakfast choices the night before and everything is ready for you when you come down.  Overall, I've stayed here numerous times and this is always my first choice when visiting York.  Highly recommended!

Had a really nice time , it was only one night but the room was very comfortable and the staff very friendly. The owners Paul and Fiona went out of their way to make it a nice weekend.

We arrived before check-in and happened to catch the owners. They directed us to the parking behind the house & checked us in early. We left the car and set out to explore. Lovely room. Small shower. Lovely grounds. Delightful breakfast made to order. Easy checkout. Definitely recommend!

Absolutely the best. We toured uk and this was our favorite, talk about thinking about the people first.

Stayed for one night and couldn’t have been more pleased. The room was spotless and well-appointed, with an ensuite bathroom, a minibar, and thoughtful touches like complimentary drinks. The entire property was immaculately clean and clearly well cared for. Service was excellent—staff were welcoming, helpful, and made the stay feel effortless. Breakfast was another highlight, featuring homemade and locally sourced condiments like jams, butter, and sausages, which added a lovely personal touch. The hotel also offers accessible parking and is located less than a 10-minute stroll from the heart of York, making it both convenient and relaxing. A peaceful, well-run hotel in a great location. Highly recommended for anyone visiting York.

Exceptional stay at MonkBridge House Hotel

Wow! We wanted to stay somewhere walkable to York city centre that also had parking for our hire car and Monkbridge exceeded all our expectations. The warm and informative welcome, the comfortable and beautifully renovated rooms, the cooked to order breakfast, the overall service and all the little extras and touches made our 2 night stay amazing. Thanks so much to our hard working hosts who have also painstakingly restored the building into an amazing B&B!

Lovely hotel, perfectly positioned. Hosts were friendly and helpful, offering advice about the area. Breakfast was amazing - especially the homemade jam! Little touches like the cuddly toys to put out so you weren’t disturbed and handmade soap, biscuits in the room etc made this a perfect place to stay - we will definitely be going back!

Absolutely fantastic! Hosts Paul and Fiona were amazing from the moment we arrived. We got there early as planned, and Paul kindly guided us into the free parking at the back of the hotel. The room was lovely, complete with a selection of chocolates and treats available on an honesty system. And the breakfast was simply outstanding! Made with fresh local ingredients and cooked to perfection. Overall, I couldn’t recommend this place more highly! Thank you

Monk Bridge in York was our favourite stay after travelling all through England. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the entire B&B is lovely, with a serene backyard garden and a lounging room. The breakfast they serve is incredible with homemade selections. I’m allergic to eggs, usually a bit tricky for B&Bs, yet I had varied options to choose from. Its location is perfect, a 10 minute walk from the centre of York, in a quiet location with a few options very close. No stone is left unturned by Fiona & Paul, who are fantastic hosts and offered suggestions on some key sites. We would definitely stay here again!

Fiona met us at the property and went out of her way to show us round and tell us every we needed to know. The room was gorgeous with lots of littles touches that made it special. Loved the homemade shortbread. Breakfast was great. Lots of choice with homemade jams and butter. Thank you Fiona and Paul. Loved our stay and hope to return.
