Fab pub - they accepted a booking for 11 on New Year’s Day / and opened just for us having only been to bed for a few hours - fab simple but super pub grub / lovely friendly staff and extremely dog friendly 

We visited the pub yesterday with our 2 dogs and we couldn't have been happier with the service. Lovely sisters running the place with fantastic drink options and the sunday dinner was AMAZING!! Very kind to our doggos and a lovely cosy pub. Also beautifully decorated for Christmas. Will be back soon. Thank you for the great service :)
FYI: didn't stay in the rooms and just visited the pub

Our group of 7 went for dinner there. The staff where very friendly and funny and provided a great service. The food was delicious and we sampled some of the new cocktails as well which where equally delicious. All of the group had the best time. Highly recommend. 

Called in expecting to eat - should have checked in advance as they don't do food on Mondays. Barman Callum was very apologetic and found us some cakes on the house. Very kind and genuine excellent customer service. Gorgeous cakes. Stopped for a pint as the atmosphere was very friendly and relaxed. Will head back another day to eat as the cakes were delicious! 

From check in to check out it was an excellent experience. Jacqui and Tracey could not do enough for you. 

Room was clean and comfortable with en-suite shower and even fresh milk for your coffee or tea in the room. 

Evening meal good wholesome food and breakfast just as good. I had the full breakfast! English or Welsh?? lol looked and tasted the same and set me up for the day. 

Local customers also welcoming so enjoyable company in the bar. 

I would recommend this pub for an overnight stay or to stop for dinner or a drink.

I stayed here with my husband and baby for one night just to get my baby used to being away from home. The Tanners Arms was the perfect place to do this as the staff were very friendly and accommodating so it was easy for us to relax! We had a superb meal in the restaurant and great night's sleep in the very comfortable bed. Fantastic breakfast too, could not fault the food or service. It's a great location from which to explore the Brecon Beacons and I'm sure we'll return in the future.

Initial pit stop for a drink after a long bike ride as we were staying up the road in Craig.  Warm welcome and sat in the beer garden in the front of the pub.  Decided as a group to have a look at the menu to come back for evening meal and it was well worth it.  The pub is lovely and cosy inside and the owners are very welcoming.  Food was lovely and reasonable and as the last bus back to our accomodation had left the owners kindly gave all 9 of us a lift home...I would highly recommend this place.

Lovely pub and b&b, run by 2 lovely and friendly sisters who made me laugh. The food was brilliant and so filling. The room was comfortable and well decorated. Loved the little fridges with fresh milk for my coffee. Church down the road has an old yew tree, and perfect spot for walkers

Lovely rooms, and very clean. Good service and help from Jackie. Food was good, particularly the breakfast. The surrounding walks and scenery was beautiful. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a walking holiday

What a beautiful meal in a lovely setting. Very warm welcome, nothing too much trouble. (Even Mollie our dog got a treat! ) Our fussy eating boys said it was best meal had out in a long time. Chatted to some lovely locals too. Highly recommend The Tanners Arms if you wamt a relaxing, wholesome wonderfully cooked meal. Would also definately consider staying in B&B for a few days in the future.

As a family of 13 dining together we were made aware from the time of booking that they would have to serve us at different intervals, this wasn’t a problem.  
The staff made us welcome and the atmosphere was fabulous with locals watching the British Lions.  
The food was brilliant and no complaints from anyone.  
Special mention needs to be given to the waiter Callum, who at such a young age, was aware of being attentive to us all.  
Thank you Tanners staff, you made our evening a pleasure!

Brilliant Service

We had an overnight stay as we were doing the dark sky experience which was a 10 min drive away at the visitors centre. 
Rooms were lovely and clean, bed was comfortable. We spent the evening in the pub and restaurant. Food was great, lovely atmosphere and the land ladies were really helpful and welcoming. Would recommend. We will be returning with our children soon.

Great food/ clean rooms/ friendly staff

A brilliant base to spend a few days exploring the local area. Jacqui was very friendly and  helpful giving  directions as needed. Tracey’s home cooked food was delicious and ample portions. The rooms very comfortable and well equipped with great showers. The pub is used by locals and travellers with lively banter. Watching the red kites and heron from the front windows was amazing. Plenty of sanitizer around and everything felt Covid safe but with a relaxed atmosphere. We will definitely return as there’s lots to see.

Welcoming local pub

Stayed here for 2 nights whilst hiking in the Brecon Beacons. Location, room and pub were all great! Jackie was invaluable in helping us plan our walking, along with being a great host for our stay!

Pub had a great atmosphere as well, with a great mix of locals / family’s and guests in on the Thursday and Friday night!
