What a friendly little pub and great chatty locals. Thanks for welcoming us and our cocker spaniel. Thanks to the lady we were chatting to outside who recommended Downderry for walk on the beach with our dog and the Inn on the shore. Would highly recommend you pay a visit when in Menheniot

I booked the white heart as it was close to family I was visiting. I just needed somewhere to sleep. However, it was beautiful. The staff were really friendly and ‘ Jonny’ the owner was smashing and made me and my family really welcome. The room was lovely, full of character, proper Cornish historical place. The church out side chiming gently in the distance. The room was clean, comfortable and the bathroom was amazing. Modern, functional and excellent. The views out of my windows were of the tiny village road and church. I felt at peace there, safe and relaxed. Definitely going back there.

We stayed here for two nights and the rooms were huge the beds were comfortable. New Bathroom which had a fab shower.

The Staff we so friendly and we throughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel.

Can't fault our stay here at all, plenty of positives above what we'd expected.  

Our room was lovely, had everything we needed and a note to say to ask for anything, and after meeting the hosts I would have felt completely comfortable to.  Traditional, homely style, and so clean.  

Advertised as dog friendly and that's an understatement, our pup was utterly spoiled and made a fuss of, however for those travelling without dogs, it's managed very well so that 4-legged guests do not impact on their stay. 

The proprietors are present, friendly, down-to-earth, accommodating.  Bar staff exactly the same.  Locals must see so many people passing through but you'd never think it as they were so welcoming and friendly, by the second night of our stay it felt as familiar as being in my own local!

Breakfast, as everything else, was good quality, relaxed and all about customer satisfaction.  As we plan to make regular trips to the area I am so glad we've found this gem on our first stay, I will look forward our next visit and bringing more friends along.

Booked for 2 nights, wish we could have stayed longer, fantastic hosts, friendly locals, good beer, nice room, didn't try restaurant as they had a limited menu due pandemic. Thanks guys for making us feel welcome. Steve and Sian. 

Recently stayed about a mile from the pub, perfect walking distance for us and our dogs.
No you don’t have the extensive bar stock you would in a huge bar, but it had a good variety covering all tastes. The staff were friendly and chatted to us about things to do locally.
We also found the locals there really friendly and helpful. They were all social distancing and made sure we had space outside and were happy to chat and help, giving us recommendations and taxi numbers.

We had our own room; which was like an apartment in itself. We were allowed in our room earlier then expected; which was good as we needed a rest. The owners and eventually the locals were very nice and polite...it was so refreshing to speak to like minded people and generally get out of the city way of life. The food was banging; dinner and breakfast. All in all 10/10 

we stayed in this are last week and with all the concern about people traveling from outside their local area we were treated as if we were locals by the owners Suzy and John and the great locals 
we look forward to visiting this lovely pub again

I didn't stay here but was very surprised by the unfavourable reviews. I spent several nights chatting with the locals, an intelligent bunch with whom you can  be sure of an interesting conversation. It turns out that the accommodation here is exceptionally cheap as is the good breakfast; the Landlord has plans for refurbishment and in my view it is churlish to complain about minor present inconveniences which should be overlooked considering the extraordinarily good value. I shall return with my dog Lucy and book a room

After reading so many bad reviews, my partner and I went to the white hart hotel unsure but with an open mind. Well, I can honestly say, this gorgeous pub/hotel really was a diamond in the rough!! The staff were very friendly, real ale on draught tap, a lovely ,spacious ,room, very clean,lots of tea/coffee/choc, flat screen tv extra pillows and comfy bed... and the breakfast was excellent and all for £6!!!! We will most definitely be going back.thankyou for a lovely stay.

If you want a great diner without going out, then this is a great place to stay for a night.
Selection and quality of evening meals is very good. Lot's of tasty and interesting options to try. Also there is a great breakfast.

The only downside is that the building is feeling as old as its years and really in need of a refresh.
